I'm gonna keep this short, sweet, and to the point. I've been going to this Satchels for a few years now. It's the worst location if you're driving because there is about 3 parking spots so I suggest parking a little farther and just walking there. Onto the food.. The Shelley plate is 3 sides for $5. GET IT. The cornbread, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes are so good. Yes girl, I am all about the carbs. Sometimes if I'm feeling extra good, I'll get two sides of mac and cheese and I'm not even mad about it. The portion sizes are legit too!The meat, I'm gonna be honest, I don't love. I'm a huge bbq fan and the meat is just always dry when I come here so I always just opt for the Shelley plate.It's cheap and decent here. I think it's good and would definitely recommend.

Well I've been coming here for years and the bbq is some of the best in AA. My last visit i ordered half a slab of ribs 2 sides of mac and cheese and cornbread. The total was over $23!! When i got to my job site to enjoy my ribs there was half a chicken and no ribs!! I had to take time out of my day then, and go back to get what i ordered. Not sure if i will return again..

Brisket is unfortunately dry and little to no fat. Sauces were liquid and extremely watered down. You have to ask for butter for your cornbread and they don’t have any honey. The music makes you feel like you’re at a freshman potluck. Sweet tea separate from drink station with no ice. Macaroni was dry and pasty - clearly made hours ago. Overall, I was hoping for some decent bbq from Michigan but just left disappointed. Then again, they are catering to the late-night drunk crowd. Kitchen staff works hard but the product is subpar to no fault of their own. Good effort, but Satchel is the McDonalds of BBQ.

Stopped in for dinner. There was only one table in the building that was handicap friendly for a family of 5. We had to wait for the 2 men that were taking up the large table to leave before we could sit even though it wasnt busy at all. The meat was good, but the sides weren't great. Very bland potato salad and mac and cheese. Baked beans seemed a little undercooked. Seemed quite mediocre for the $70 we spent.

These people know what they are doing. Meats are always moist and never dry. Mac and cheese is on point. Customer service is always spectacular and the place is clean head to toe. Always on my list when I visit Ann Arbor.

Good food and surprisingly available for a busy Saturday night. We were happy to get a table for twelve on short notice. The brisket was superb. Sides were middling--good, not great. But everyone loved the meat, even if the cornbread wasn't exceptional.

Being from out West, and having eaten my own body weight in BBQ, I reluctantly tried Satchels BBQ. This is ABSOLUTELY some of the VERY BEST BBQ I've ever eaten ANYWHERE! The Bone-In chicken was absolutely amazing and the Kielbasa was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!! If you are a true BBQ fan, then this is pure DISNEYLAND for your BBQ taste buds!!!

I can’t stop eating here while I’m working in the area! Pulled pork is great, house sauces are awesome. Clean, comfortable dining area with nice decor. I’ll be back, and I’ll be bringing my folks next time!

Food is always great, although online ordering is inconsistent. After placing a pickup order online close to closing, I arrived for the employees to be completely unaware. Fortunately, they were kind enough to quickly make the order and sub my preferred sides with ones they still had left. Much appreciation to employees for going above and beyond in spite of a suspect online ordering system. I will phone-in orders from now on.

Found this place by chance because we didn't find any parking closer to the restaurant we planned to go to. It smelled delicious so we couldn't resist and had to walk in. It turned out to be a great decision because the food was amazing. There was a short wait because they had a large order previous to ours which was ready when the person picked it up. My fiancé ordered the brisket meal for $16 and I got the half rack of dry ribs for $18. Both plates came with two sides of our choice and good corn bread. I've had lots of BBQ in my life and I think this was outstanding for sure. Fall of the bone meat and perfectly cooked brisket, both quite delicious. The beans were a bit too sweet but still good. The mashed potatoes were perfect and the collard greens were tasty. The portion was large, so I had to take some of it home. I'm very happy we stumbled upon this place! The staff were nice as well. I shall return.
