Excellent food , excellent service , clean , great menu, highly recommend
Such a cute place! All the staff were so kind despite being slammed from the Art Fair. The girl making drinks was SO FAST and the kitchen had our food minutes after we sat down. My veggie tacos were even better than I imagined when I ordered them. Great service.
Such a a cute spot but I really did not care for the set up of this establishment. You have to order and then the food is delivered to you, there are no servers. This would even be ok if there was more than one register but there isn't so the line was crazy. It kind of ruined the experience from the start. The food was good and so was the presentation, I also enjoyed the coffee but if you are on a time crunch, this is not the place for you.
Visited for the first time on a Tuesday for brunch. I had the breakfast tacos while my husband had a bacon cheeseburger and fries and my daughter had a hot honey biscuit with bacon and a sunny side-up egg. She also ordered a matcha drink. We were all very satisfied with our meals. Service was fast and friendly. Loved the atmosphere and decor.
Stray Hen is a weird hybrid—one step up from McDonald’s, yet trying to pass as a more refined dining experience. You walk in, grab a menu, and order from a cafeteria-style cul-de-sac. The menu itself is decent, with a good range of food options, but the setup is confusing and lacks flow.
Once you order, you're expected to seat yourself. However, if you happen to sit at a table deemed too large for your party—even mid-meal—you’ll be asked to move. Seating is tight, and the restaurant is busy, so expect to be bumped and jostled frequently—mostly by staff moving quickly through the space.
Your food is then walked around by staff searching for your table marker, and during rush times this can take a while. There’s no cover on the plates, so your food is exposed as it circulates. After ordering, you're hit with the dreaded screen-turn for tipping, then handed silverware to set your own table and directed to fill your own water.
If it’s busy, good luck finding a table. Wheelchair access is difficult and navigating the space is not easy. If you sit for longer than 30 minutes, staff will begin pestering you to leave—usually by offering you a to-go bag. If you wish to order anything else, you’ll have to rejoin the line, which can be quite long.
Good luck asking questions about the menu—the register staff seemed too rushed or disinterested to help. I stepped out of line just to try and get some clarification, but it was clear assistance wasn’t a priority.
To be fair, the food is good and the prices are competitive. But the overall experience—from the disorganized layout to the dismissive service—was simply not enjoyable. I won’t be returning.
Delicious 😋 with great vibe.
The meals are as healthy or greasy as you want them. Great diversity of options and clean ingredients. Awesome vibe

The young lady you have working at the counter is absolutely rude and miserable. Spend more time on her phone and talking with her friends then she does helping actual customers. Main reason I will no longer come in.
Yall are a staple in a2, time to clean house.

What a great spot for breakfast and brunch! Wonderful food, service, coffee, and humans. Be prepared to wait in line for food and a table but it moves fast. Scratch made goodies for every tummy.

Loved this place! I had the French toast and my son had the cinnamon swirl pancakes. Both were delicious and big portions. Sausage was good too. Line very long you wait to order then you find a table and they bring your food. Any coffee etc you pick up at the counter next to the one you placed your order. Long wait but only because had 1 cashier. Busy and definitely a great atmosphere. Will definitely go again. Great service and food came out quick. Trust me you will love this place.

After hearing a lot of praise for Stray Hen, I stopped through with a group of four for Sunday Brunch this fall — let me tell you, Stray Hen is quite an experience!
The ambiance of the restaurant really meets the desires of the clientele — clean, chic, and very Instagrammable. That said, if you come during a peak time, expect a solid wait (30 min or more). Stray Hen has adopted the approach of some brunch restaurants in bigger cities like Nashville, structuring the line such that you order up front and the food is brought to you, optimizing the throughput after ordering and leaving the bottleneck at the point of ordering. There are definitely pros and cons to this, but the upside is that there are usually tables open by the time you order!
The food and drinks similarly meet the needs of the Instagrammer; very nice to look and you’ll get a great story post from the food/ drinks. That said…. I was a little underwhelmed with the taste overall. The savory dishes were a little bland, and the sweet dishes were *crazy* sweet. Overall, you’ll probably get a similar tasting but less visually appealing meal at your local Coney Island. Is it worth a visit? Sure — especially if you’re looking to check it out once and keep exploring for other brunch spots after that.
