I was excited to try this bakery since the reviews were so great, however I was disappointed in the shop itself and the taste of items. First off, I couldn’t find the bakery, it is hidden down a sidewalk off a parking lot. Then we walked in and noticed an odd smell, not a good smell that would come out of a bakery. I wasn’t the only one to notice the smell as my kids mentioned it immediately upon entering. It is very tiny inside and only has a little glass case with varied wrapped baked goods and hand written tags. Honestly it was a bit chaotic to look at and read all the little tiny labels, nothing looked recognizable as something I wanted to try. Most tags read vegan, so I asked if there was anything non-vegan and I think the lady thought I wanted only vegan, but I didn’t want vegan. There was a bit of confusion between her and I when I asked what exactly wasn’t vegan so I could choose. I ended up with chocolate chip cookies and they were frozen. When they thawed we tried them, and they were odd to say the least. Tasted like a ginger snap with chocolate chunks in it. It crumbled like sand and literally had the consistency of kinetic sand. It was very weird. I didn’t try the cake which it seems this bakery specializes in and I suppose if you are vegan, this would be a solid option for treats, but for meat/dairy eating folks, stick to the mainstream bakeries. I would also note it was pretty expensive, $3 per cookie and it was pretty small, I would think 4 for $10 would make more sense.

This bakery did a phenomenal last-minute cake job for us. When our Baker backed out the week of a birthday event with a few dietary restrictions, we were scrambling to find a reputable shop to make us a cake. We reached out to this bakery on Monday, needing the cake picked up by Friday morning, and they were able to accommodate no dies all natural and organic while still offering flavor options. The cake itself was amazing. 10 out of 10 recommend to anybody looking for a specialty cake.

Julie did an awesome job with our wedding cake! It was a 3 tier lemon raspberry cake to serve 100 guests. We got multiple compliments on how good it tasted, no one could tell it was gluten free! The price was extremely fair and they delivered the cake for us. Would highly recommend if you need a gluten free wedding cake!

Although the cake tasted good, it was the ugliesr cake, so ugly! I asked for a pretty girly cake with pink rosettes and white lettering. It was grey, dirty ulgy grey swirls with bright neon green lettering. Not close to what i asked for. I was embarrassed to give it to my friend. The shop front was dirty, however the owner was pleasant, even when i complained he said he didn't decorate it. I did not have time for him to call the decorater to correct. What a huge disappointment for a first time purchase. Not worth the money. I will not be returning.

My son has multiple food allergies and as a college freshman it was his first birthday away from home. Julie at Tasty Bakery custom made cupcakes he could eat, handing him a list of ingredients for his peace of mind. His comment: These cupcakes made my birthday feel really special. My friends thought they were delicious too.
I have had tasty bakery items in the past and really enjoyed them. When I had a special family event, they came right to mind because of their quality.
Ran and Julie were timely and thoughtful in their correspondence during my initial inquiries. The cakes themselves were stunning, delicious and flavorful. The guests were raving about the cake for days after. All the compliments about the day were about these cakes :) Vegan Chocolate Cake with caramel and chocolate ganache filling with chocolate buttercream was the highest rated! Highly recommend for any chocolate lover crowds.

This is THE BEST vegan bakery you’re gonna find, and they happily work w you on custom orders. They’re prices are a little high but for what they have(not to mention being able to get vegan/diet restricted items) it’s the only choice in Michigan baked goods. ?
I purchased a bag of gluten free chocolate chips cookies about a week ago and I have to say,...big disappointment. The first couple of bags (5 cookies) were amazing. However, the last batch I purchased about 1.5 weeks ago were horrible. Too much sugar and very grainy. For $ 15.00 a bag of 5 cookies this should not happen. I am not sure if the recipe got changed or what. Will not purchase them again. Consistency is the key for a good business. I have had better cookies that I purchased in a grocery store for 1/2 the price or less than this recently purchased gluten free cookies. I purchased these cookies at Agricole in Chelsea.

I feel so lucky to have found Tasty Bakery! Ran took my order & he was professional & had great communication in his emails. I ordered a gluten-free carrot cake for my daughter’s baby shower last July. It was the most delicious carrot cake I have ever had. Everyone that ate it absolutely loved it. People were very impressed at how delicious it was for a gluten free cake. The only bad part was there was No leftovers to take home. Also I wanted to mention that they decorated it exactly as I requested.I would highly recommend Tasty Bakery for a special order cake. I wish it was closer to where I live. I would love to taste some of their other baked goods.Thank You!
