The ambiance here is great, the food quality vs price is incredible, we did just get lunch so didn't try the bbq. The chicken bibimbop and housemade dumplings were fantastic

The place was pretty busy the two times I went. The service is not the best because there’s usually only 3 servers.
The price is a bit higher for the meat but they give good portions. The food tasted alright but it felt like it was missing something. I was a fun experience though.
The place is usually loud because of the grills, fans, and chatter. Everything was clean and well kept. One thing I didn’t like was the pink neon lights. It was hard to tell when the meat was cooked because of them.

I absolutely love this Korean restaurant! We’ve had takeout multiple times from “The Seoul” and it’s been amazing every time. The food is always delicious, authentic, and generous. The manager is always super kind and helpful, and she care really shines through, and super attentive and made sure everything we needed was taken care of.
We are grateful for this place - it’s our go- to for comforting Korean food in downtown Ann Arbor.

The decorations in this place changed, it has more of a colorful and fun vibe now. The food is still of good quality and delicious. The manager always knows what the customers want and the service is really good. I'll be coming back with my friends.

The place is quite small, and while the food looks appealing, the taste didn’t really work for me. It might be because I’m used to a different style of food, so I couldn’t fully enjoy it. Flavor-wise, something was missing for me. The ambience is just average—there isn’t much in terms of interior decor; it feels like a simple, no-frills barbecue spot.

Low quality for a high price. Check out the veins in my Bulgo Go Gee. Skip this place and walk down to Kang's on South U. Better food at a lower price.

We were in the mood for Korean barbecue so we stopped by here. We caught them in the busiest time. It was the Ann Arbor arts fair. We had to wait a bit, but it was fabulous. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is friendly attentive. The manager was phenomenal. She had the sweetest personality and access if we need anything even though restaurant was busy the steamed egg was delicious. I would definitely go back to this place.

Hands down one of the best korean restaurant in Ann Arbor. Form the moment we sat down manager made us feel genuinely welcome. she was attentive without being overbearing super knowledgeable about the menu and made sure came to our table and asked us often if we needed anything. she served with a friendly attitude and professionalism that really stood out. top quality foods and great vibe. whether you are a regular or first timer you will leave full and happy. 10/10 would go back again!

It was like a sauna I visit there because I had a dinner appointment with a friend my friend who was waiting for me said that the restaurant was hot. I liked the food there so I just wanted to stay. that was a bad choice. as a time pass, The restaurant got hotter and hotter and I started sweating. There was barbecue at the table next to me and smoke was coming out I could feel the burning smell filling my clothes and hair. The food came out, but it was so hot that I couldn’t taste it. The staff must have sense that I was hot so they turned the fan to me, but it didn’t work. The weather was so hot that I wanted to eat delicious food with my friend and my favorite restaurant but it was a bad choice. I don’t think I should go there when it gets hot. They need to fix AC.
I've been to The Seoul at least 20 times as a undergraduate living near central campus — call me loyal if you will. Most of the younger Korean servers are polite and professional, and I always leave a tip to support local Asian cuisine businesses, since many Asian restaurants like Bopjib and Moon Cafe closed. (Now I really wish they can come back.)
However, there's one older lady at the front (possibly the owner?) whose attitude towards me has consistently made me wonder: did I accidentally offend her in a past life?
Today I came in alone, said “Hi, table for one please” like any decent human being. At the front stood the aggressive older woman, who at first wore a perfectly professional smile that vanished the moment she actually looked up and saw my face. Then I was greeted with what I can only describe as a soul-piercing glare and a silent menu toss onto the nearest table. No words. The kind of vibe that makes you feel like calling 911 on yourself.
Later, while trying to order, she cut me off mid-sentence, grabbed the menu before I could even say “Diet Coke,” and stormed off. (Shout-out to the kind staff member who did bring me a drink — my only savior.)
Meanwhile, every white customer walking in was greeted with smiles and sing-songy hellos. Must be a special promotion: “Authentic Korean hospitality — conditions apply.”
Oh, and the Galbitang I got? Four bones with barely any meat, half of what I got last time as takeout. I guess I paid for the mood.
Left a $1 (5%) tip — not for her, but for the staff member who made sure I didn’t dehydrate into a raisin. Minimum 18% tip for this kind of service? Nah - tips are not obligations. I once tipped over 30% on a meal that spent over $250 because I enjoyed the service. You just don't deserve my bucks.
In summary: The service is very uncomfortable and disappointing - I can't believe, here in Ann Arbor, Asian's self hate and micro-aggression towards other Asians still exists. If you enjoy the cold stares, and the thrill of being treated like a criminal for dining while being an Asian — you’ll love it here. Might come back once I get plastic surgery to whitewash myself — just to test the theory.

This place! Soooo happy to leave knight’s crap place for this! Spicy beef was not spicy enough so i got a GENEROUS portion of spices! 🥵🤯 i used half but should have used less 😂 … koreans dont play with spice!! I ordered the soup “medium” to be safe so i guess next time ill go for “spicy” as the menu calls it. Really impressed with the eggs too! “Shareable” indeed! Thankful for all the “bad” because it’s all in the plan!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
