Atmosphere is eclectic. Limited menu options. Items are a bit on the spicy side if you have a sensitive palate. Location can accommodate individuals and large groups . Parking on site.

Yesterday, I decided to go to Union Rec with coworkers and a client after seeing how the food was displayed on TikTok. Upon entering, I noticed the location is wheelchair accessible, and the staff kindly helped open the doors for the wheelchair.
We placed to-go orders and just waited by the front door. When I paid for my food in cash, the waitress asked if I needed change, and I told her that I did. When she returned, I noticed my full change was not given back, so I asked where the rest of it was. She looked at me but didn’t respond and instead continued processing the credit card payments for the rest of the group.
After she finished their transactions, I asked again about my change. Typically, I tip well, but since she chose to keep my change without asking and ignored my question, I told the front door host to let her know that the change she kept would be her tip. I’m not sure if it was a math error or her not knowing how to count, but it was disappointing.
We eventually got our food and went back to the client’s house. We were all surprised that the tacos didn’t automatically come with any type of sauce on the side. Overall, the food was just okay and not as flavorful as expected. Also the small cup they give of the Mac n cheese was half full. They are pricey for the amount of food you get.

The energy here is the draw. Most eclectic, spacious, cozy eatery in the area. I can’t emphasis enough how family, group and KID-FRIENDLY this place is. Plenty of space, cozy seating options, solid kids menu, lots of vibrant decor and tvs for their viewing distraction. Bring your littles here! The food is average yum, but a little pricey. To us, it’s worth it for the fun and kid-friendly atmosphere. Great and unique drinks and a sweet bar.
Not to mention a huge parking lot and out of the Main Street bustle.
Plus a little coffee shop addition with unique homemade syrups for a seasonal pick me up. I come here sometimes to work and sip on coffee and nosh on pastries in the mornings before the kitchen opens and it is quiet, spacious, and WiFi.

Brisket tacos were good. Mac and cheese pretty tasty. The brisket with the bowl was a little fatty. I'd go back. Check it out

Bbq and tacos kind of an odd combination. The food was mediocre but the atmosphere was very comfortable. Pretty pricey in my opinion $8 for a brisket taco (one taco) 6 for one ground beef taco. Overall I was not impressed.

Came for a friend's kid's birthday party -- they made us stand around and wait close to an hour (w/ a bunch of young kids) just to sit down in the private event seating area. Seemed extremely disorganized.

Union Rec is interesting because it feels like they almost have too much going on. The menu is a mix of southern BBQ, TexMex, and Asian. This isn’t necessarily bad and it can be nice to have options, however, it can also feel slightly chaotic. I ordered the Sesame Chicken Rice Bowl from the specials menu and it was good! Honestly was very pleasantly surprised so that was good! The portion size is fair but for the price doesn’t quite feel worth it. It was rather pricey for the food you get but not awful. Overall, Union Rec was fine. Not a must go but not bad by any means!

Nice spot in downtown AA. Should have taken more pictures of the food, but was to hungry. Food was delicious. I liked that they had bottles of their BBQ sauces on the table to try. I was there as a family of four. The mac and cheese portion was big enough for us all to share. The kids LOVED the pulled and was stuffed by the end of dinner. The brisket was in point. Good thing we walked there because we needed to walk off all the food we ate.
