We have been driving past here for the past years and a half and have always wanted to give it a try. Well, tonight was the night that we decided to stop in. I have to say that it actually wasn't bad. The food was good, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere was pretty cool! When we walked in, the person that seated us was very friendly and kind. Our waitress was very attentive and was ready to answer any questions we might have had. I'm pretty sure we will be eating here again in the next 2 years, considering that's how much longer our daughter will be a student at u of m. Give this place a try. You will not regret it!

Too bad the food was terrible because our server was pleasant and the atmosphere is fun. All of the food was very bad. We filled up on disappointing chips and salsa.

The food was not good
I ordered the wings, which had absolutely no taste. The outside was crispy and had a semi sweet glaze on top, but once you bit into it, the chicken had no flavor. I've never had chicken that had no flavor whatsoever. I ordered the cauliflower bites. They were not hot and a bit soggy. The queso dip was good. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was great, alot of seating and tables, along with booths; A nice fireplace in the center. You can see the kitchen from anywhere in the space. A bar. Cool place to hang out but not eat

A great restaurant with a great vibe. It is definitely tucked away, looking like a warehouse bucked behind an auto repair shop, but once you find it you’ll be glad you did. Union Rec has a creative drink menu with food offerings that go beyond la comida Tez Méx. Joe, my bartender and the rest of the staff are fun, attentive and engaging. I devoured a set of tacos; the Chicken Tinga, Korean Pulled Pork, and the Brazilian Brisket with a margarita to was it all down. Very yum. They also have a private event room and coffee shop that opens at 7:00 am. If you haven’t, you need to check the place out. You can also enjoy free WiFi with electric outlets and hooks for your belongings at the bar. Always busiest on game day.

Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accesible for both the coffee shop and the main restaurant. Ramps and rails.

We came here after we eloped to enjoy dinner with our family (6 in total of people) and we came in around 8 pm. I felt SO bad as they do close at 9 pm. However, the staff WAS so kind. They closed at 9 but still served us. Lyndsey, our server, was quick, and helpful! She then told us the manager told us to pick out two free desserts and have a sparkle! They congratulated us and went ABOVE and BEYOND. We didn’t call ahead and didn’t ask for any favors. They really put the customer first and they sealed our night on the best note possible. THANK YOU UNION REC!!!

Wonderful French Fries tasted like the ones we used to get at THE State Fair! Their signature dish, Mac and Cheese, was delicious. I ordered the Taco with Pork on a soft corn shell, which was tasty, but I didn't care for the taco shell. I also tried the Brisket Taco on a soft flour shell, which was tastier, and the shell was chewy. Great! We will be back soon.

Parking: There is a lot of parking in the vicinity, but they were really busy on a Sunday at 5:30.

Food was ok with a moderate selection of a wide variety of things. Decent attempt at barbecue with cool creativity but I’m used to Texas bbq so unfortunately can’t compete. Service was great with a very large party, and they even made sweet tea for us since we came up from Austin.

We went for a post game drink and food. The atmosphere was amazing and the service was spot on given the huge crowd. Nice work.

The food is really bad and expensive.
The tacos dorados are not even close to what a taco dorado supposed to be...
The place is nice, nevertheless, the service is not.
