It's a golf course bar and grill. The atmosphere is more bar like with loud golfers that have been out all day. The waitress wasn't very friendly or helpful. The food was just okay. Not much flavor. We ordered fried mushrooms, and they were still frozen, sent back, and they came out frozen again. Stuff was also missing from our order, and our waitress seemed annoyed when it was pointed out. It wasn't too crowded, though. So if you are looking for a place that isn't too crowded and is a little loud, but has just okay food that isn't too expensive it might work. Chicken wings were the best thing we had. Macaroni had a weird taste.

Had a decent breakfast platter here before a recent day of golf with friends. Others in my group had breakfast sandwiches that also looked good.It was a typical eggs, meat, potatoes and toast kind plate and it was all cooked to my liking and doneness.

Gull Lake is hurting for great restaurants, and Charles and Darl's is a just good one, but still a great place to go whether you're a golfer or not. The waitstaff are friendly, and are attentive to customers needs including kids. It handles sandwiches and burgers well, with great sides, but don't expect too much from the BBQ. It's fine, but I had the pulled pork, and it was served microwaved in a black plastic bowl - not particularly smokey either.

Very clean and smells nice in here. We ordered the pulled pork. It would’ve been delicious but the food was WAY over salted including: the pork with sauce and the Mac and cheese I ordered as a side. Tell the cook to be easy on all the salt he/she uses. Yikes. And the cucumber salad didn’t taste the greatest- too much vinegar used.

We ate at this restaurant a couple months ago. The food was decent although the service was definitely lacking. Still, with covid and all I know most restaurants are having trouble getting help if they can find workers at all. So a few days ago I looked up their menu online to find their prices had risen 20-40% on most menu items. Still, I called to order take-out food and was told they had to close early because they had nobody to cook nor wait tables. Whomever answered the phone pretty much gave me the impression I should take a pass on this restaurant until further notice. They might as well close up until they can find some workers.

Their food is good but the first time we tried it they forgot our cornbread and the pork was left out of the Mac and cheese. This time they forgot the cornbread again and the sweet potato fries were not fresh. At the prices we pay things should not be forgotten every time.
