Excellent diner. Fast and friendly staff. Good size portions.
Have known about Alene's for years and finally decided to drive over from Portage for breakfast. Western omelette was great and couldn't resist taking home a piece of triple layer carrot cake. It was delicious.

Arlene's Truck Stop is a convenient stop for travelers and locals alike. The restaurant offers a variety of diner-style dishes, including chili with jalapeños and Rubens. The service is always top-notch, with friendly and engaging servers. The diner is clean and has recently been remodeled, making it look very nice and very clean, which many customers appreciate. Parking is available on site, including dedicated spots for truckers and campers. There is plenty of room for trucks to park and fill up, and the gas prices are good. Inside, space is limited, but the restaurant continues to serve delicious food, including fresh hot crispy chicken and homemade desserts that are considered a cherry on top by many customers. Although some items like the Krispy chicken and potato wedges are a bit pricey and dried out, the overall experience remains positive. The bar top has been changed, and some feel it doesn’t meet the restaurant’s needs, as customers might prefer eye contact with their party instead of looking out at the gas station. Despite these changes, Arlene's remains a reliable stop, known for its good food and helpful staff. The convenience store is cramped but offers drinks, ice cream, and snacks. Many customers have shared stories of staff going above and beyond, including helping stranded travelers with food and assistance. The new management and staff make visitors feel welcome, and it is nice to see a hometown truck stop succeed.
