Im spoiled because I grew up in Tempe AZ right down the road from Guadalupe.so I have tasted alot of authentic Mexican cuisine.But as far as Midwestern restaurants go they do a great Job.you have to remember how big Mexico is.the food is very regional.and prepared a bunch of different ways.so what you get here has alot to do with family traditions.and adapting to the areas culture.
We were spending a few days in Bay City and the vegetarian-friendliness of most of the Mexican restaurant menus was leaving something to be desired. But we all fell in love with this place instantly. From how well they took care of our large party of water-guzzling camels, to the handful of vegetarian items on the menu plus their flexibility making substitutions. Then the food came! Los Pinostacos Mexican Grill is authentic Mexican food and it shows! The food is so delicious the portions are nice size! I always get taco dinners when visiting, you get 3Tacos your choice chicken beef steak etc plus a side of beans and rice. They always give you complementary homemade chips and homemade fresh salsa rather you are dining in for taking it to go!!! The Carne Asada tacos are my favorite and are chef kiss. Dinners are about $12-$15 each.
