Found this little place and ate in for lunch - the food was top notch! We got a sampler plate plus an extra side and shared.As someone who has spent most of their life in Texas, I’ve eaten a lot of good BBQ and the brisket here was awesome. I would easily give this place 5 stars for the food alone, but it was not a full service restaurant. I'm a chef with a background in butchery and have worked for 2bbq operations, so I am very knowledgeable about this food.First impression of this place: as I walked in, I could smell smoke. If you are walking into a bbq joint, and you don't smell smoke, it's a red flag, and you're probably gonna get sub par food. First, overall, this BBQ is definitely above average. However. All the meat came slathered in BBQ sauce, AND nowhere on the menu did it say everything came covered on sauce. The brisket, unfortunately, is super off. It was thick cut and dry, though very tender. They also seared it, which is new to me.
