Google said they were open, but we got there and they were closed. That’s what we call a real hot dog bummer

Great for a quick bite to eat! Nothing fancy but service was good and we didn't wait long for our food. Had the olive burger and a regular cheeseburger with onion rings; everything was delicious and fresh. Onion rings serving was super small and they were almost $7. As for ice cream we tried the Michigan Pothole and the strawberry cheesecake - both amazing!!

My family is from the Island (got a road named after us and everything), Daddy Frank's is my go to for ice cream, and recently, I tried the food there too.
Chicken tenders were amazing!!! Crispy outside but soft inside, HUGE serving of fries, but small serving of tenders :(. Picture included shows what comes in the tenders basket, right after opening.
Icecream is always good, fresh flavors, good sizes, overall yum.
Down side is they have foreign workers who aren't always the best at English so sometimes you have to correct them but for the most part they're nice.

Very unfriendly service and very small portion for what it cost. Very unfortunate as Daddy Frank's has been a Beaver Island institution for as long as I can remember. Maybe owners live off island and just don't care.

It was okay. Bit of a wait. Pretty much what you expect from a walk up beach food/ice cream place

The help here was ridiculous. They were too busy scraping the ice from inside the coolers than helping customers. Then to top it off after ordering another couple came in and ordered and they cashed them out before us. Our ice cream was melted before we even got a chance to eat it. Terrible customer service. We felt ignored. Don’t waste your time doing business here.

Have to love the hospitality and willingness to do business.
Flip the closed sign as we are walking up after having just seen some others walk out with to go orders. Open/closed times on Google aren't up to date.

We had fond memories of Daddy Franks but haven't been to the island for years. The good news is the friendly counter service. The atmosphere is modest but perfectly reasonable with very casual indoor and outdoor seating. The price just isn't justified. Slightly over $35 for 2 smallish burgers, 2 regular fries, 2 sodas (no refills). The burgers were average; neither bad nor great. The fries were a little limp today.
