Sunset Restaurant At Beaver Island Lodge

Sunset Restaurant is the nicest restaurant on the island and has such a nice view- love eating on the patio. Our food was a bit hit or miss. French onion soup was good, but the mushroom soup wasn’t our favorite. It was a very blended soup with no texture. A lot of people were ordering it though, so that is just our opinion. Ribeye was just okay. The menu said it came with a red wine sauce but it wasn’t on the plate, so that was a bummer. The short rib was very good though. Highly recommend that. Overall it was a nice dinner during our time on the island.

We and another couple dined 2 nights mid-June at Beaver Island Lodge’s Sunset Restaurant. The quality and creativity of the meals was a pleasant surprise. Definitely a step up from North Woods fare. This was shoulder season, and service was excellent. A bonus was dining outside on the patio, enjoying the sunset with no mosquitoes. We’d eat here again.

I felt it was overpriced for what it boasted. There were some good flavors, but each dish our party had screamed for some kind of sauce. It was all so dry. My duck was overcooked, but the server never came to ask how things were until we'd all finished. I ran out of water several times before she brought more. She brought the check, then did not return for it for over 10 minutes. I saw her clearing other tables, scratching her head, then serving another table their food. The bread was good. The sunset was obstructed by haze and clouds, but the view of the lake was beautiful. Overall, I was disappointed.

Salmon overcooked after asked for medium. Sent back and they did better. Friend had filet and pleased. 2 others enjoyed a chicken dish. Food is just ok. Sunset is great.

We really enjoyed this restaurant as it was close to our boat, easy to be seated and the food was good.

We just popped by the Sunset bar for a beer & pre sunset view before venturing to our airbnb (no food to review) & were greeted by Lonnie behind the bar. He was welcoming & they offered a few solid Michigan canned craft beers served with tall, frosty cold glasses. The inside bar was cozy, retro/perfect & patio was lovely. The bar/restaurant was closed the next 2 nights of our visit so we didn't get to return this trip but we would have.

Amazing dinner, great service, and a view of the lake and sunset. The food here was so good. We had a party of 8, and everyone got something different. Everyone loved the food. Some people reviewed that they thought the atmosphere needed a refresh. Get over yourself, you're on Beaver Island. It was fantastic in every way

Beautiful setting. Our meal was delicious. A very nice place to go if you have a special occasion or celebration but even just because you want a good meal besides a burger or sandwich. We were dressed casually and didn't feel under-dressed. Service was outstanding , and our waitress made sure everything was perfect!

Had a wonderful dinner with my family this evening. This place has always been good but the last couple times I've been there quality of the food and the attention to presentation has increased significantly. Our waitress was exceptional tonight as well. Thanks Hodgson family.
