Great food.Tasted awesome after skiing for like four hours...... their smash burger was fantastic.Their fries were awesome, too.
3/1/25 took a break from skiing. Decided to try the Bistro at about 2:30 pm. The pace was disgusting. I had bad vibes from the start. Line was short when we ordered. ( you stand at bar order/pay, bring a number to your table and it will be brought out to you) my husband ordered a beer as well we sat down at a dirty table because it was the only option, no one came to clean it, ok fine no biggie ( about 4 other open dirty tables around us) food and trash all over the floor. After 45 min we finally got our food, the condiments we ordered and paid for did not come. I immediately noticed and asked the server, she never brought them I had to ask her TWO more times in her passing. My husband never got his beer. The waitress said we should have got it at the bar and there was nothing she could do about it. We tried to speak with someone at the bar but there was a long line by this time of people ordering and no one else around, I finally interrupted someone ordering and the bar tender was VERY rude and grabbed the beer can off the counter (sitting out for over 45 min at this point) and said I sat it right in front of him. We didn’t know you get it when you order your food. And we were literally sitting at a table right in front of the ordering station at the bar and not once did she think maybe I should bring this to them…? The ‘smash burgers’ were not smash burgers, barely covered half the small bun and a couple bacon sprinkles. Very disappointing! will never return. Ivan’s cafeteria food is a much better bet.
PB&J burger had no jelly, minimal peanut butter, and a piece of hair thanks
It's a joke. More like a cafeteria. No barstools, so I wouldn't call it a bar. No skier charm, food sucks, overpriced, forget about service. Just a completely lousy place.
Marginally adequate bistro. The menu shows a gluten free option but nothing is tagged as such. The help is clueless and have a rude edge with interactions.
Me and my grandpa were going to go to the lakeveiw dinner, but it was not open. But we are so glad it wasn’t because it caused us to come to the Bistro! They have delecious food, and the whole staff is very kind. They rolled out the red carpet for us, we felt like celebrities! Overall a great place to come and enjoy your lunch!
I was so happy to get a DELICIOUS and healthier option here! This was the chef’s special. The grape leaves and hummus were especially fantastic. I wish they had this on the menu all the time! Throw in some grilled chicken and it would be perfection!
River Bistro at Shanty Creek Resort is a delightful dining experience that perfectly complements your ski adventure. This ski-in, ski-out location offers unparalleled convenience, allowing you to glide right up to the restaurant after an exhilarating day on the slopes.
The spacious interior provides ample seating, ensuring you'll always find a comfortable spot to relax and refuel. One of the unique features of the bistro is the bridge you can ride to access it, adding a touch of excitement to your dining journey.
River Bistro's menu is diverse and caters to various tastes. From hearty chili to warm you up, to fresh and crisp cobb salads for a lighter option, there's something for everyone. Vegetarians will appreciate the falafel, while the smash burgers are sure to satisfy those craving a more substantial meal.
What sets this place apart is its family-friendly atmosphere. Kids are warmly welcomed, and there's even a pool table for some après-ski entertainment. The relaxed vibe makes it an ideal spot for groups or families to unwind after a day on the mountain.
Whether you're looking for a quick bite between runs or a leisurely meal to cap off your day, River Bistro at Shanty Creek Resort offers the perfect blend of convenience, variety, and ambiance. It's not just a restaurant; it's an integral part of the Shanty Creek ski experience.
Took the grandkids skiing, then to Ivan's for pizza, French fries and hot chocolate! They loved the action at Ivan's and had a blast skiing.

Great place to grab a drink and a snack while skiing, golfing or just hanging out. Great atmosphere with views of mountain and golf course. Pro shop / Ski shop are directly below which is very convenient and very easy to access.

My two teenage sons and I were skiing at Schuss mountain for a 3 day weekend. We ate here 4 times (in fairness there are not a lot of other options on the mountain) but each time the food was delicious. My kids raves about the brisket burger, we all loved the piggy Mac, and the truffle fries were great just to name a few. You order at the bar and then they bring you your food at your table. It comes out really fast so you’re back on the slopes in no time. Only complaint is it’s kinda pricey.
This restaurant is a disaster, they limit the amount of people that can come in and eat as in no parties over 8 at a ski resort, the ordering process is messy and orders were being messed up. Would rather eat bark falling off of a black diamond then eat here.
Fun to ski, staff is great!
