Best pizza in the north. Also amazing drinks- great values and service
I have never been here but after seeing how the owner/manager (not sure which one probably the owner tbh) defends their employees, I have to give them props. Don’t let a hot headed guest get what they want just because they throw a tantrum.
I recommend any place that has the patience to put up with crazy customers and the respect for their staff and the truth to stand up for both. Jason Jones isn't anyone I'd want to have in any establishment that I owned or even visited.
Above average bar food and friendly staff. Of course the beer is good. :)
Excellent place to kick back after a ride, kayak or ski.
We came upon this place while walking around Bellaire. We were pleasantly surprised on the atmosphere, food and drink that was evident and offered. Would go back in a heartbeat next time in the area.
We are from Ohio and have been buying Short's beer for the last very years. While we were in Bellaire are, we decided to drop in and glad that we did. The restaurant inside has several rooms to eat. We had our sandwich and Short beer which was very good.
Waitress was very good. However they seated us in the room with the lime green booths. We felt we were in the back room very dismal and by the bathrooms. The other rooms and patio were vibrant. Restaurants should always ask “is this all right?” Before seating you in the spare room. I think the other younger couple were disappointed as well. Grinder was good. Nachos so so
They once had a separate vegetarian menu - no longer exists. They made a menu change last year that removed the only vegetarian (easily made vegan) item that constituted a meal (the Push the Little Daisies salad that included plant protein and a side of hummus and pita). Of the four salads that remain, all of which are animal protein heavy (each would require removal of 2-5 things to make it vegan, and three of the four would require removal of 2-3 things just to make it vegetarian - cheese and egg would remain). They don't carry any kind of veggie burger or other veggie sandwich. The only meal left for vegans to order would be a cheeseless pizza. The reason given for the change was "kitchen efficiency." Currently vegan unfriendly, which is a big step backwards.
Great spot to grab a bite and a beer. I’d recommend the chicken blue cheese beer dip! Have a outdoor pavilion across street as well as a bar and restaurant

Great beer and atmosphere
We were visiting from CT and went here for lunch with family. Our waiter was extremely friendly and efficient. I ordered the Rueben sandwich that literally melted in my mouth. It was the best one I have ever had
First - Food is good Second - Beer is OK - you need to brew something else between the Local Light and all the weird stuff - how about a Kolsch? Cream Ale? Third - I know its summer - but it was just short of Romper Room in here due to all of the kids running around. I want to enjoy my beer and dinner - very hard to hear in this restaurant with all of the children screaming and running. A brewery should be an adult space. I don't know what the solution is to this - it seems to be the Millennial way - bunch of young couples with kids under 10.
We had out first Short's in their outdoor venue. Then we visited The Pull Barn in Elk Rapids to have another Local’s Light and Huma Lupa Licious. Then we ate at the Pub inside! Did we like Short's? Absolutely!
Always full of great shorts gear. Always new things to check out. Staff is awesome too! Definitely worth checking out.
