We had a truly wonderful family dinner at Lakeview. The chicken tenders were something special—crispy, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The service stood out as well; the staff was attentive, warm, and made us feel right at home. What made the evening even better was the atmosphere—relaxed, welcoming, and perfect for enjoying time together as a family. From the food to the service, everything came together to create a memorable dining experience that we'll definitely look forward to repeating.

Unfortunately 2 stars is being generous. Ordered a Southern Comfort Manhattan and it was served with Jim Beam. Ten minutes later they served what I ordered. Then, for dinner, I ordered NY Strip Steak, wild rice, and french fries. When my dinner arrived at the table it included the NY Strip Steak, vegetables, and cheesy mashed potatoes. They got my cocktail AND my dinner wrong. We have been owners at the Shanty Creek Resort for 20 years and used to enjoy going to the Lakeview for a nice quiet classy dinner. Not any more. It has been turned into a bar with multiple TVs and the noise level was extremely loud. Not only from the TVs but from the clientele in the dinning room. That will be our last dinner at the Lakeview.

Made a reservation noting it was my anniversary and requested a nice table location. Arrived to find tables largely empty but the bar was lively. Shortly after ordering apps and wine the hostess sat an 8-top of loud golfers next to us. The waitress then took a tremendous amount of time to bring our bottle of wine. The most expensive bottle on the menu (Napa) was the only one worth ordering with a markup of only about 75%. Others were very, very cheap bottles marked-up 200%-400%. The appetizers were the highlight of the meal. My wife's steak was then very sadly over-cooked and the potatoes had clearly sat far too long under a heat lamp.

2 in our party had the "largest" piece of salmon ever, one had "most lean" slice of prime rib and I had a really tasty meatloaf dinner. Our server "Grumpy Old Lady" goes above and beyond. Steak bite starter with horseradish sauce is amazing. All was outstanding.

Our initial goal was to sit in front of the fireplace. I spoke with someone earlier in the day who said the fireplace would be fired up but failed to tell me there were no tables in front of the fireplace, even though my reservation requested that. I'm very disappointed with the misinformation. The buffet takes up most of the room where it should be a nice experience for customers to sit by a roaring fire. Our waitress did not know English very well and couldn't explain questions we had about some of the dishes. No olives for a martini! ???? What? No olives? Sorry but servers should know the menu and be able to explain it and answer anything asked since we are in the United States. Only upside was the beautiful sunset! I don't think we will be back for a while or at least until positive changes are made!

There was a Lions game at the same time, so it was pretty noisy in the restaurant. Also, one meal wasn't ready at the same time with the other five, only 10 min later. Other than that, all was good - delicious food, very nice waitress.

New Years Eve was a buffet only, which wasn't mentioned on OpenTable when booking the reservation. $49 for adults would have been fine but our 9 year old was lumped into the age group 9 - 17 at a $43 rate, which was ridiculous. Drinks were reasonable. Sitting by the window and watching the tubing course was nice. The prime rib and scallops station was great.

The Lakeview Restaurant at Shanty Creek Resort offers a delightful dining experience with stunning views of Lake Bellaire. Your choice of the honey chicken sandwich, beef bourguignon, and Summit Burger showcases the diverse menu options available.

The restaurant's menu features a range of appetizing dishes:

- **Signature Entrees**: The beef bourguignon you enjoyed is a standout, slow-cooked with a rich red wine reduction.
- **Handhelds**: The honey chicken sandwich, a popular choice, combines grilled chicken breast with hot honey, pimento mayo, bacon, and avocado.
- **Burgers**: The Summit Burger, a half-pound of fresh ground beef on a brioche bun, is a classic favorite.

Paulina's outstanding service reflects the restaurant's commitment to customer care. The staff's attentiveness enhances the overall dining experience, making guests feel valued and well-attended to.

The Lakeview Restaurant lives up to its name with breathtaking views of Lake Bellaire. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide a picturesque backdrop for your meal, especially during sunset. This setting creates a memorable atmosphere for both casual dinners and special occasions.

The Lakeview Restaurant at Shanty Creek Resort offers more than just a meal; it provides a complete dining experience that combines culinary excellence with natural beauty. Whether you're a resort guest or a local, this restaurant is a must-visit destination that will leave you with lasting memories and a desire to return.

Our waiter was exceptional! She was handling the entire restaurant! The salmon was delicious while the potatoes and green beans were lukewarm.

We had a reservation for 7:00. Got seated right away at a great table but no one ever came over to acknowledge us or take any drink order .it was like we were invisible. There were probably 4 servers working and only 7 tables or so that had customers. We Sat there for 17 minutes while all the staff just walked by including the server at the table next to us. We finally put our coats back on and left. On the way out, I went to the hostess / manager ? Who seated us and told her that we never had anyone come to the table so we were leaving. All she said was “ I’m so shocked. That’s Tonya’s section and she is very friendly “. We didn’t know who our server was because we never saw him or her. I also got an email after we left , from open table which is where I made the reservation , saying that my reservation had been cancelled by the restaurant . I am wondering if this was so I could not leave a review on yelp. It was strange regardless. I don’t know how the food is but the service was horrible. We went to an other little place and spent half the money and great service. We won’t be back to Lakeview.

Good food, but we were expecting a little more upscale. View was fantastic, but maybe add some tablecloths. Our server was very nice but the outfits left a little to be desired. Prices seemed a little high for what you get in ambience.

The food was highly over priced with mediocre results. My husband had the Chicken Marsala, which was overcooked and bland. I had the Ravioli. I received three raviolis with a gritty-type sauce that left an aftertaste. We do not recommend this restaurant.
