Would recommend this establishment. The atmosphere at first was a bit dry, but after striking up conversation with the bar tender/waitress it turned out to be a great experience. Had a great time and would visit again.

One of our favorite places at Shanty Creek! Cozy atmosphere, friendly service and clientele. All season bar with an outside fire pit for skiers and cooler weather. Nightly entertainment available throughout most prime season times. Excellent location! Good food!

I had an awful experience with the "ID checker/bouncer" just trying to get into this establishment this past Saturday evening with a group of ladies I came with. Tall, younger looking man with dark hair. He asked for my ID, I obviously handed it to him and he took quite a long time looking at it in which I playfully asked "what's taking so long?" He then got extremely upset at that comment and asked me if I even wanted to come in and why I was acting like such a bitch. I obviously became very upset that he said this to me and started to raise my voice saying how disrespectful and unacceptable that was. He then told me he never said that then tried to play victim and say he "had a bad day" looked around at everyone and said "I didn't say that did I??" In which everyone obviously replied yes you did and how uncalled for that was. He then told me I deserved it because I was "acting like a bitch" and then told me to leave. This was absolutely ridiculous, this man shouldn't be working here at all. He's clearly emotionally unstable and unfit for this job. We were really looking forward to coming in and having a good time in the area. Sad we got treated this way.

Always a fun little local hang out when you're in the area! Fun to stop by and have a cocktail or a cold beer and get a few pulltabs! They have a popcorn machine for fresh popped popcorn, and a fire pit in the back.
Our group came back to the Shanty multiple times to see Alissa, our bartender. The nachos and cheese bread were great, but she really helped make the atmosphere and experience 10/10.

My husband and I usually like to go to downtown bellaire for dinner when we are in the area. However we have a new baby and it was just easier to get a dinner order in…after looking at the menu we felt like there were some good options. We ordered a salad to share and the pesto chicken pasta. The girl said it would take 10 min and my husband went right up to get our order and it was our fault for not checking but the $20 pasta had no garlic bread (when it said it comes with it) and there was a handful of chicken pieces thrown on it. We weren’t happy when we opened the box but we were so hungry that we said whatever…we took a bite and it literally tasted like water. There was no amount of salt or flavor in the world that would bring this pasta back. Not to mention the pasta was so hard. I’m all for an al dente pasta but this wasn’t edible. They did give us our money back but I honestly didn’t even care about that. I just wanted a warm cooked meal. I wasn’t looking for an amazing dinner but we had been traveling all day and we were hungry. We ended up just throwing it away and I am a person who hates wasting food. If you plan to put a pasta at a $20 price point make sure there is flavor and enough chicken to make that price fair. We will not be back.
