I asked for a medium rare breakfast steak and it came out perfect. Most steak houses can't cook a medium rare steak, but Toonies nailed it. I highly recommend it.

The service was wonderful. The food was meh. I got the perch sandwich, two small pieces of fish on a very burnt bun with a piece of green leaf lettuce that was brown. My wife had a chicken wrap she liked. It was full of chicken. The onion rings pictured are standard breaded onion rings. Ranch was watery. It was worth the $40 for dinner.

Had dinner here tonight! Rebecca was absolutely amazing! Ribs and steak were great! Highly recommend!
It was not as good as the first time, and food was lukewarm and bland.

My wife and I visited Toonie's on a Friday evening for the fish fry special. The place was packed sp we took the last 2 seats at the bar. Although packed, we reived decent service from the bar tenders. We found out the fish fry special was a saltwater white fish. My wife chose to order that but I chose to order the freshwater perch dinner (I'm in Northern Michigan). The portion of perch was good and, as others have stated, the fries were good. The issue was that the perch were very greasy. I should have known that those fryers were being used extensively and weren't keeping the temperature needed for crisp fish.
The dinners were good enough to take our son and his girlfriend back for breakfast the next morning. Toonie's had won a 2023 award for best breakfast in the area. That Saturday morning the restaurant was not busy, but for some reason service was slow. The Regulars definitely got preferential service. I ordered the cornedbeef hash. The hash was tasty but the portion size was just adequate for the price. I didn't understand the hashbrowns. They seemed to be minced. If the weren't crusted together, they tended to fall through the tines of the fork. My over-easy eggs tasted good but they were Just done (some clear whites remained). My wife ordered the Skillet and that was a large portion of food. My son ordered the eggs benedict and he was not happy with the portion size. They were small. For comparison, we ate breakfast at a newer restaurant in an adjacent town the next day. Portion sizes were bigger and taste was just as good or a little better.

Excellent Home Town restaurant in Downtown Bellaire, located about a hour from Traverse City in Northern Michigan. Wednesday nights are their half price rib Special. Great value for the price and delicious too! Check out the Brew dispenser at the Bar! It fills your glasses from the bottom! ???

A quaint local joint in Bellaire that is exactly what a quaint local joint in northern Michigan should be. Fun pics of old stuff on the walls, super friendly service (Sarah was great), a relaxed air full of morning conversations covering every imaginable topic, and, most importantly, delicious food. The steak part of the “Holy Cow” breakfast was excellent - perfectly peppered and medium-rare. The eggs, browns, and toast played their roles nicely. A nice way to start the day; I imagine dinner and drinks to be pretty solid, too.

The best perch and very reasonable prices on all dinners. Our waitress was very pleasant too. ...Wish we had a place like this in Florida!
Went here for breakfast and really liked it. When the waitress told us the pancakes were "that big" (with a large distance between her hands), we scoffed and ordered some. Well, they were "that big"...a whole plate and about 1/2" thick. Very filling. I also had the hash, which was unique but mixed with eggs and potatoes. We will be back. Coffee was good and kept coming.

The food was amazing! The 2 cocktails I got were the orange cream mimosa and a chocolate martini they were amazing and I was drunk. The food was to die for! So so so good! We walked in an hour before close and they were way more than happy to serve us. Smilies on their faces and they didn’t seemed rushed to get out of there. Thank you for the experience will be coming back in the future!
