Never open when we go there even though their website says they should be. Really inconsistent and unreliable hours. Great pizza if you catch them when they’re open.
Rooms good, but no smoke alarms in rooms, extention cords used to plug in air conditioner, lloonngg hike to boat dock with steep inclines, gaps in docks you had to step over, electric not close to boats for plug in, fish cleaning station horrible, stone deck around our patio was all full of weeds and picnic table over septic cover. For $920 for 6 nights never again. View was great minus a couple of trees in the way. Dog friendly but no one picked up dog piles. We had quite a few on the hill by our cottage. Website info and pictures very deceiving. BE CAREFUL!!!
I would give zero stars if I could. Our group of 9 seemed to be an inconvenience to the staff. We were seated outside and the view of the lake was awesome. Food on the menu looked good but we never got to that point. Ordered a couple appetizers which we finally received, but only half of us received our drinks. The waitress tried to blame the problem on the tablet, but based on the alcohol smell it may have been operator error. Other table that came in after us had their order taken and drinks came right out. Needless to say we will never go back. Never had such poor service
Great food had the works wood fire pizza nummmmm, great server as well!
We have stayed here the past 2 summers. Both times the rooms were clean and comfortable. Mary Beth is always the sweetest and is so welcoming. The restaurant has great food and staff as well! Highly recommend especially if you are looking for a place close to Porcupine Mountains, fishing, and hiking
This is our second year staying here on our vacation. The rooms are comfortable, rustic decor, and have a refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, cable TV, plenty of towels and quiet. Lake Gogebic is just a walk down the driveway.
The restaurant has a menu with enough variety to please everyone. If you aren't hungry go anyway and order the pretzel. It's amazing and enough for 2 or 3 people. We got in on live music both years here that was super good.
Me, my husband and our two small children stopped at AJ's restaurant on our way home to Minnesota.
Their food and service were great! This is the best woodfired pizza I have ever had! They were quick, and their servers were very nice, polite, and attentive.
110% coming back to this place and would recommend you stop by on your way through town!
Restaurant opened at 1 we walked in at 1:15, only a couple people at the bar and old lady was very rude and telling us that it was just too many people and our food was going to be an hour or more, not a big deal to us as we are understanding that a party of 14+ makes quite the difference, but the attitude it was told to us with was the issue. Food was sub par and wasn’t worth the wait in my opinion. seasoning is a thing.
She even threw the dogs out in the rain!
Food is a little on the expensive side but the venue is quite nice and the staff was polite.
We tried their Mediterranean pizza, and it was fabulous. Even the crust was amazing.

Service was terrible, even for a small town. Waiter was fine. The manager didn’t seem to care that we waited 20 minutes to take our order and over an hour to get food for everyone. No explanation. We’re not impatient people, but an explanation would really be helpful so we can make decisions on whether or not we want to wait that long for our food. Beautiful view. It’s really a shame! Thanks for ruining our day.
One of our favorite places to stop when we are in the area. The wood fired pizza is over the top. Slow down, take in the best view of beautiful lake Gogebic and get the cannoli.
The hand made, muddled northwoods style old fashioned drinks are a great way to start your visit to da UP.
Helpful when I needed to get out of their parking lot
We stayed here in 2020 and fell in love with the lodge and noticed the restaurant was being built,so when we returned in 2025 on our snowmobiling trip our first meal was at this new aj's oven,so we snowmobiled 30 miles from east of lake gogebic,We pulled up and I thought this was the coolest ambiance with music out side and the biggest Christmas tree this side of the rockies, once inside we new we were up north.the food made our pallets dance!!! The resort has a trail spur right off of trail 8 to their front door!!! This will be our place to stop when ever we are up and should be for you all. Thanks Mary Beth to you and your family.
Excellent experience! Staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. We had the bruschetta and Mediterranean pizza, both were fantastic! Pizzaiolo Russell created an amazing dinner for us!
