AJ's Lodge and Oven

The food was great and the service was good but they charged me 4 extra dollars to take items off my sandwich. The waitress asked if I wanted to add cheese, and I said no because I didn't want to pay extra. My receipt showed I was charged two dollars extra for no cheese. They also did this with peppers (a dollar extra for no red and a dollar extra for no green, which I agreed to having on the sandwich anyway). I would have appreciated that transparency up front as I've never seen a restaurant do this. Just wanted to let other people know.

What a gem! We stopped for supper on a Sunday night. Got an amazing table on the deck overlooking the lake and there was live music! Pizza was very good. A beautiful evening.

My family and I stayed locally at another location, but had heard rave reviews about the pizza so we decided to give it a try. We had a rather large group and ordered 8 pizzas and 2 pizza breads to go and MaryBeth was so friendly and accommodating. Her cook was fantastic—he knocked out our order way faster than we had anticipated and it was DELICIOUS! We were so happy with our experience and really appreciated their patience, kindness, and ability to accommodate our large carry out order. We are so thankful to have a go to place when we come to visit again!
My only suggestion to customers and owners would be to double check prices as menus are not updated online or at local resorts. :)

Incredible time. Food was great. Rooms were perfect for a large group. We stayed there for a bachelor trip and the owner and staff could not have been more conforming to our needs. They went above and beyond preparing for arrival.

I was taken here for my bachelor party with 8 of my friends and it was awesome. The view of the lake is incredible and very peaceful. The service was outstanding as well as the food. Their wood fire pizzas are top 3 best pizza I've ever had. The BBQ brisket and ribs on Saturday was so good as well. We golfed at local courses 2 days and rented a boat for the third day. Couldn't have asked for a better trip.

Wood fired pizza oven! Dinner on the deck overlooking a glass calm Lake Gogebic, there's not much better!!!

Our server was definitely overloaded! I know waitstaff are hard to find but... As this is July 16, surely there are people that want summer jobs! Pay them a good wage and I bet you can find good help!

Called to see if any availability and they were able to get us in to the last room. While room needed some work, it was clean and comfortable. The view was amazing and our son enjoyed fishing from the docks. The pesto chicken wood fired pizza was amazing as well as the Grinder sandwich. Great price for the amount of food and service was top notch on a busy Saturday night!

Beautiful, cozy spot by the porkies! I had a work event in Ontonagon so my husband and I decided to make a short overnight trip out of it. We stayed in the Grouse room, and it was a really nice room with a great view of the lake. Everything was clean, and looked updated while still keeping a very up north feel to it! The food at the restaurant, while a little bit on the pricey end for the UP, was SO good and worth every penny. Everyone we met was super nice and the service was great (s/o to Tori!). Our favorite part - we were happily greeted by Larry, the sweetest yellow lab, when we checked in. So glad we found this spot, and we will definitely be back!!

Love this establishment and its owners! They all work their tails off! I started going for an annual fishing trip with buddies about 6 years ago. Since then i make multiple trips a year to stay at the lodge with friends and family. We are always well taken care and the food is always perfect! We always make it a point to make a trip or two around the lake and stop in the other businesses in the area. I will continue to make trips to stay at AJ's for years to come. Some of the best wood fired pizza and wings a fella can get and a hell of a Cuban! We always have a great time when in town!Noteworthy details: Take in what the area has to offer! Lake Gogebic is amazing and the fact there is a giant lodge and beautifal bar and wood fired oven on the shore of the bay with not much else around for miles is a reason to fall in love with this place!
