Love this establishment and its owners! They all work their tails off! I started going for an annual fishing trip with buddies about 6 years ago. Since then i make multiple trips a year to stay at the lodge with friends and family. We are always well taken care and the food is always perfect! We always make it a point to make a trip or two around the lake and stop in the other businesses in the area. I will continue to make trips to stay at AJ's for years to come. Some of the best wood fired pizza and wings a fella can get and a hell of a Cuban! We always have a great time when in town!Noteworthy details: Take in what the area has to offer! Lake Gogebic is amazing and the fact there is a giant lodge and beautifal bar and wood fired oven on the shore of the bay with not much else around for miles is a reason to fall in love with this place!

The view and location is unbeatable. A true gem in Northern U.S. If your looking for a quiet and beautiful place to take the family whether it's boating in the summer or snowmobiling in the winter you will not beat this place. The food, the food, the food!! The prime rib was amazing and done to perfection, "wood fire" pizza you typically can only get in big cities was AWESOME (the crust, omg, I'm gonna cry, was amazing). Saw the GIANT pretzel with beer cheese, next time! Great beer with plenty of choices, loved my "widow maker". The bar and grill has an amazing view, watched sunset over lake while having dinner, plenty of seating and tvs for the game if your not wanting to miss it. Did I mention the view!? The owner, the chef, waitress, everybody there is sooo nice. You remember those days guys when businesses had nice people, well here you go!!! No B.S., this place is amazing, you'll see!!

We have stayed here in the past, but the restaurant had not been built yet. This is such a a fantastic place to see the views and enjoy some amazing food and drink. They certainly don't skimp on their portions. The staff was so friendly and attentive, it felt like home. Thank you Jim, Mary Beth and Anthony, we had the best time!! We will definitely be back soon!
(This is the same property and owners as another listing called AJ’s Walleye Lodge) We reserved a lake side room with a balcony. We had no balcony, and if you leaned real hard and pressed your face to a window, you could see the lake through the trees. Sadly that was the good part. When we asked about the change to the reservation the manager told us she did us a favor. She also said things like “the door doesn’t have a locking mechanism, don’t get excited, you can lock it with a board.” “You booked through Expedia, don’t ever do that again”.We let ourselves into the room via an unlocked patio door that was accessed through a dark hallway. The patio door had no locking mechanism or latch (video), a stick was provided. The “suite” was dark, barely any lamps and those that worked at 25w bulbs. In the light of day we found out why. The place was absolutely disgusting, and smelled like dirty socks. (Video) Stains all over the carpet and in front of the fire place, stains and cobwebs on the drop down ceiling panels, the oven’s door fell completely apart when we opened it, only three of the four burners on the stove actually had a burner. (Video) The bathroom had about 8sq in of counter space, the toilet was tiny and the shower pan was stained and smelled. (Video) I did attempt to take a shower and there was absolutely NO water pressure. The hand soap in the kitchen and bathroom looked like a scary science experiment (photo). There was a sock and tissue on the bedroom floor and the place had mice. While sleeping it felt like something was crawling all over me. It was not a good stay however we had no other option but to make due. The reviews on yelp are accurate regardless of their argument.The food we had next door was good, the drinks were completely over priced. The l property is in a great location, it’s sad the lodging is so very run down and unkept.Safety: The patio door doesn’t have a locking mechanism. The exterior stairs are dimly lit with an old faded rope light, and there’s railing missing on the end of a walkway (you turn to access the stairs) that could result in a 4ft+ fall onto some big rocks. If you’re there when the docks are out, be careful, the one on the left is intentionally tilted at an angle to access a row boat leaving a very uneven surface that also bounces and shifts badly when you walk on it, a person could easily fall.

We stayed in the eagles nest west. Clean and great view. Right on the lake. Super nice lodge with a huge deck. Two freindly labs(Larry and Buddy). Owner( Mary Bet) couldn't have been nicer. A New Yorker though and through. Hard working family run resort.Rooms: Two queen been in two bedroomsNearby activities: Porcupine Mountains are about 20 minutes away. Tons of atv trails. Very secluded. Love it here. Red, yellow, and orange leaves showing themselves this week. Still lots of green.

Our 1st waitress seemed perturbed that we were ordering food (at 5:30pm). The 2nd waitress was absolutely wonderful. We had the beef sandwich and tacos. The food was ok. They don't serve fried food. The side salad that comes with a sandwich was nice. It took a long time to be served for a place at about 65% capacity. The water that you self serve (no ice water served to your table) from a plastic dispenser tank into a plastic cup didn't taste right. They use crushed ice in cocktails.Food & drinks: Mediocre is a high praise.
