Definitely an old school bakery feel. I have no complaints with how I’ve personally been treated - I’ve only had very polite and nice experiences. Coffee has always been hot for me and I was even offered more bagels because it was slow today! I usually get bagels and cream cheese once a week in the mornings and have never had an issue, they are very delicious… but duh, it’s a bagel! It’s a go-to bagel place for me and a must try if you’re in the neighborhood. So glad I started coming here.

Worst coffee I’ve ever had. Old and cold. Instead of offering to make a new batch, coffee was reheated in the microwave. Place smells like burnt cheese and chlorine. Awful!

Old school bakery reminds me of my childhood with amazing fresh made bagels (chewy type). Cant beat fresh coffee and bagel for $6! I will be back!

THEE go to spot for bagels. Owner is nice, has good recommendations. This location > any other bagel joint

The girl working today didn't greet anyone coming in. Had her headphones in as she nonchalantly made some specialty coffee drink. Phone rang and she didn’t pick it up. No service of any kind. I’d recommend NY bagel in Ferndale 100% over this

What happened to this place? It used to be so good. I know it went under new ownership years ago but this honestly used to be my favorite place to get a bagel. The jalapeño cheddar cream cheese was insanely good so good in fact that my teacher used to let me leave class at Berkley High School if I brought him back an Elaine’s bagel with that cream cheese on it. The cinnamon sugar bagel?? That was INCREDIBLE is now non existent. This place has completely lost its identity compared to what it was a decade ago.

Man, this place sucks. The only bagel shop where you better count your bagels before you leave. 2nd time bought 1/2 dozen and they gave me 4. Hardly any bagels left at 9:45 on a Sunday. Bugs everywhere, poor service, room temp coffee, and kinda pricey. Truly sad.

Place never opens on time always short on Bagels by mid-morning the young girl that works here is rude seems as though it's a trouble to wait on you I've had better Bagels elsewhere would not recommend this place.

Write this place off. It's gone for good. They're on the fourth or fifth owner since their glory days in the 90s. I don't think the current owners even know what a bagel is. They tried to charge me $14 and some change for half a dozen bagels. F' that. The place is dirty and the non-bagel items they sell prepackaged ghetto crap that you would see at a gas station or at a party store. Forget about the this place it's over with for them.

Very limited menu. If you simply want bagels, good. The latte was limited to whole and skim milk no non dairy options, but the salmon sandwiches were decent at best.

Bragged to friends about Elaine's Bagels..they were good bou a dot doughy. I wasn't thrilled with the service. Young lady wad preoccupied with her cell phone. It seemed as if we were an interruption. Store customer area could've looked less dingy.

I have yet to have a better bagel in Michigan than here at Elaine’s. I can’t speak on any other menu items but you can’t go wrong with a bagel. Any bagel. They’re all good! The cream cheese is also on point. Not sure if it’s made in house or not but it is so creamy and delicious! My favorite are the cheese and the all-star bagels. Staff is also very nice.

Undercooked bagels. And the Asiago bagels are $3 each and not part of the pricing for a half dozen but not noted anywhere and I wasn’t told I’d be charged an extra $2.50 for 2 bagels on top of $8.99 a half dozen already.I’ve gone here a few times and each time it’s undercooked bagels. I’ll never go back.Expensive, uncooked, not worth it. I love berkley and stopping by local businesses but it’s not worth it to go here. I’d rather go to Einsteins and I hate Einsteins ……… but Elanes ranks far below them.
