This was the best dinner I’ve had in awhile. Along with fantastic and charming staff to support, the atmosphere was awesome.
You should def get the steak, potatoes, and the olive oil cake!
Such a nice crew, ambiance, and a delicious selection of food that got us wow’ed. Potatoes and olive cake (both not pictured) were our favorites ♥️. Will go back soon!
I keep returning to The Rind, which always features a few interesting and always delicious dishes. I order vegetarian wherever I go and The Rind never disappoints. The last dish I had was a morel-asparagus combination with a butter-based sauce and herbs. I've had the polenta for lunch and that, too, was really solid. The vibe is casual and the service is great. If you visit, keep in mind that you're getting a smaller portion than you might be used to. Nothing is overdone here - including the portion sizes. After your meal, browse Monger's next door for its exotic goods - licorice and chocolate, vinegars and tinned fish, and a respectable cheese case. This is my go-to place.
Well curated dining experience with a major props and hats off to Nicole who was our server ( I think I got her name correct, I am sorry if I did not) and Chloe behind the counter. The entire staff was impeccable, community amazing, and varieties of gourmet food out of this world. Cannot wait to go back! Well done, quite the gem.
Special little place with surprisingly creative and delicious menu that changes up often.
This is a great place, I go there often so I took a couple of friends for a wine tasting and had reservations for dinner after. The hostess could not find our reservation and we waited and we asked her to get the manager. The manager was very professional and treated us with respect. She found us a table, and even bought a us a glass of wine and gave us a coupon. We all want to go back right away. Do yourself a favor and go to this place. The wine, the food, the service and the manager, are all incredible.
Food is great. Grilled cheese sandwich is epic. Wagyu pastry is a must try. The place is understaffed and chaotic at times. If you order a custom party tray, double check to make sure they didn’t just give you the ‘off menu’ version. I learned that the hard way and had to drive 12 miles all the way back to get the order fixed. No compensation for my troubles. Would still go back because the food is super good

Oh my goodness! I NEVER write reviews but my dinner at the RIND was just that amazing! I was visiting from San Francisco where I think we've got some pretty fantastic restaurants and was super impressed by The Rind and their neighboring shop 'Mongers Provisions'. First off the design was super inviting and you could tell just how much thought when in to each detail, be sure and check out the custom made tinned fish wall paper in the entry. The staff were all fantastic, friendly, funny and super knowledgeable about the food and amazingly delicious cocktails they serve. Many customers knew one another throughout the evening which made it feel very inviting and as if you were at a friend's house for dinner. Now the food WOW everything was so so good! We started with two different varieties of anchovy in the most delicious olive oil paired with the yummiest bread from a local baker. The squash salad was divine and all the veggies /greens were incredibly fresh. We shared the steak and fish which were both superb. Finally the olive oil cake with a dollop of fresh whipped cream was unforgettable and probably one of the best desserts I have ever had. yUM! And then when you're done eating your meal you can pop next door to MONGERS to purchase many if not all of the products you enjoyed at dinner. They have an extensive variety of oils, vinegars, jams, tinned fish, wines, non alcoholic beverages (that taste like a cocktail!) chocolates, meats and of course cheese.
Thank you to all at 'The Rind' & 'Mongers Provisions' for an incredible night! Cant wait to return! Definitely check out these spots that are owned and run by two guys who grew up in Michigan. Support small businesses!
OH MY GOODNESS I almost forgot to mention the most delicious potato dish can’t recall the name of it but somewhat like a potato gratin.

Love this place. Came in for lunch and the food was delicious!! The grilled cheese is fantastic, also had the caesar salad which has been one of the best ones I’ve had so far in my life. Everyone is so nice here and service was great :) Would definitely come in again for lunch and will try to get dinner the next time I visit.

My first time here was a delight. Service and food couldn't have been better. Liz shared her wine knowledge and poured me a few samples. My salad was fresh and delicious. Can't wait to return for more wine and cheese!!

Nice setting, welcoming/friendly/knowledgeable staff, and excellent food. I highly recommend starting with the Mushroom Toastie (you can thank me later). I also had the Caesar Salad with Boquerones, Grilled Cheese, and Tomato Soup. I enjoyed every single bite during my lunch visit. I also learned a bit about cheeses from the staff!

A secret little spot with scrumptious food, attentive service, and uncommon drinks.
You always dream of finding a cozy little cafe that has adventurous food, but doesn't seem like it's trying too hard to be weird.
The Rind is exactly that.
At first I thought it was a Cheese Bar.... One of those places that brings you a charcuterie board and a bottle of wine.
Of course they will do that, but there is actually so much more that's not on the menu.
How about a Steelhead with a light sauce?
Or a bowl of long stemmed local mushrooms in a buttery sauce? (It looked like creamed bats when we saw it delivered to another table).
Or a seared steak with the best crust you've had outside of Paris?
We keep ordering random dishes, and none of them were anything less than amazing.
You can get cheeses, tins of exotic fish, warm Olives... so many surprises.
For desert, we were recommended the olive oil cake. Not too sweet; the perfect ending to the meal.
Hopefully too many people won't find out about the place and ruin the
intamacy, because right now it's doing everything right.
Highly Recommend.

Super delightful #DetroitFriendly staff that absolutely loves food. The menu is global, but the vibe is super intimate and very local.
Excellent date night location or meet friends to enjoy several shared courses.
It is attached to the Munger, so nearly everything you try in the Rind can be purchased next door.
Let the staff recommend a favorite or try something. Like the Jamon ham, that is rare and out of this world.
I don't rate many places all five stars, but The Rind deserves the praise.
If you're in Bloomfield Hills, Birmingham, Royal Oak, or anywhere nearby, you will not find more quality in your food or service in a very casual setting.
I expect this will end up making my must go list as I suspect I'll become a regular.

We didn't order much food but we went to the attached store and loved the samples. I loved the atmosphere. It was cozy, intimate, and easy to chat with my friend here. My friend just got a cider so I can't really judge the food from the restaurant side.
