We almost didn't go. I've had mead many times and have never enjoyed it, but we were camping in the area, it was a Tuesday, and the other wineries and distilleries in the area were closed. Their loss!
We thoroughly enjoyed St. Ambrose. The wine selections were varied enough that my husband (a lover of big, bold red wines) and myself (a lover of off-dry & semi-sweet wines) were both happy.
The grounds are casual and comfortable - there's nothing pretentious about the place. Picnic tables and chairs offer plenty of place to sit outside and relax. More seating was available indoors. There were plenty of lawn games to keep everyone entertained, and a small building holding bee related products.
We enjoyed the place so much that we walked out with several bottles of the X.R. Cyser and a bottle of Illuminati, and were wishing we were in town that weekend for the barn dance.

Attended the Barn Dance. Great music, drinks, dancing.
One of our favorite meals for sure. Went with a large group (14), we were seated outside on picnic tables with umbrellas for the hot days, it was a great atmosphere with live music, barn style outdoor set-up and food was on point, 11 out of 10, anyone visiting this area, this place is a must to visit. Great for family or large group meal or meet-up.

Nice grounds. Plenty of space. They make good products here.

This was the first time we tried mead, found it to be very good. Also had fish tacos, they were fine, but $14 for 2 soft tacos seems a bit high. Also , the service was not quite full service, waiter took order and served the mead, but you had to pick up the food from the counter. And the water was so called self service, from a large igloo water dispenser, which I didn't get any from bc I'm wasn't sure how clean it was. Overall it was a hippie type vibe, probably won't return.

Loved it! Best fish sandwich and fries I think I’ve ever had. Seriously, great food & service. Prices are very reasonable and I left feeling like I had a great meal, great music in a fun environment. It was worth the trip. Enjoyed sitting outside in your beautiful yard. Every patron there was happy and relaxed including the kids who appeared to be having lots of fun. Prepare for outdoor eating and you will enjoy! Would definitely recommend!

The management was not reflective of good customer service tonight. We knew the pizza was an hour wait, which we we okay with. But after 70 minutes we were given the wrong pizzas. Okay mistakes happen but the server blamed us, and the manager blamed the server. No apologies, no offer to make it right, no offer to rush replacement pizzas. Sad that our favorite venue handled a mistake so poorly. We even had friends with bragging about the place, well not anymore

Delicious mead and pizza. I recommend the Angry Bee. Two people can enjoy a single pizza for lunch. My husband and I bought cans of the four meads in our flight.
My family met up at St. Ambrose Cellars and had a great time. Live music, Great mead, and Amazing food! Will be going again!

Seems the owners are quite greedy and do not care about patrons. We arrived yesterday around 5:30 on July 31st, 2025. Sign at the hostess stand stated kitchen would be closing at 8. The time of the restaurant closing was 10 and the menu stated the kitchen closes an hour before the restaurant closing. Anyway, I asked the hostess if we would have enough time to order food once we waited 10-15 minutes for a table to open up and she assured me we would. Needless to say, that wasn’t the case at all. Our server waited 20 minutes to come to our table after he chatted up another table for said 20 minutes as they were finishing up and getting ready to leave. After he took our drink orders and told us he would be back shortly to take our food order (because we couldn’t order without a buzzer), we learned that the food wait time would be an hour. He clearly just cared about getting another tip and that was it. Poorly run restaurant. The bar tenders were also rude and for some reason they don’t sell drinks at the bar. You have to order from a server. Don’t waste your time and money here.
Understaffed and extremely poor service. After waiting 30 minutes to be seated and at 7pm on a Thursday, an hour before the kitchen closed our to be waiter decided to talk for 15 minutes with a table that had already been served while we waited. He finally came by and took our drink order and only after getting us drinks did he inform us there would be an hour wait for food if we put in an order. Great venue but poor service, poor communication, and lack of concern for customers makes an overall poor experience.

Amazing tacos, super fun atmosphere and delicious Meade's. I had these Meade's from my local store before but wanted to go to the actual location and I was not disappointed. It was such a fun vibe and had lots of good food options as well as some vegetarian and gluten free as well.
This place has a wide open space with picnic table style set up and umbrella's. There were tables lining the building to sit at as well. It seemed to be very dog friendly. There were a ton of them on leashes at tables. Live music was going on Sunday when we went.
