The service was very poor and all the staff seemed angry. We waited 30 minutes for our bill after eating and were basically ignored the whole time we were there. I understand they were probably short staffed, (they had a child washing dishes) but the food simply wasn't worth it. Hopefully they can turn things around
The whole experience was horrible. We walked in, found a table. There was only 2 other people in the whole restaurant, yet it took 10 min to get our drink order and another 10 for our order to be taken by the most uninterested waitress I’ve ever met. You could really tell she had better things to do like play with her phone like the rest of the staff. Our food was terrible. The cheese sticks tasted like they cooked them in the same oil as my fish. The fries were half cooked and soggy. The French dip looked half cooked as most of it was still pink. It was super fatty like they just used leftover pot roast. The Au Jus had stuff floating in it that wasn’t meat pieces. And the linguine Alfredo barely had any sauce. Most of the food was barely warm. And to top it all off we were never offered a drink refill. Also, if a waitress/waiter is going to check on a table they shouldn’t ask as they are walking away to another table. All in all I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It’s overpriced for what you get and I’ve never been treated so poorly. We didn’t even want our leftovers.
Normally we are traditional people, we frequent Applebee's, Red Robin, Logans and such. We were staying at the Comfort Inn on Dixie Hwy. in Birch Run when we noticed this little hole in the wall place right across the road. I looked it up on the internet to get a look at the menu. I liked what I saw and thought we would give it a try. OMG, the food was awesome, it was home cooked, the soup was homemade, the selection was great, and the service was not lacking. If you like nontraditional restaurants or even if you are a traditionalist like us. Give Oscar & Joey's a try, you won't be sorry.
Excellent gluten free selections with dedicated fryer and food prep area. The GF pasta was perfect- al dente, not mushy. Thank you for such a yummy Gluten Free meal. Much appreciated
Great food and service. Reasonable prices. Lots of gluten free options! This place has some of the most creative and flavorful dishes in the state of Michigan! Wild boar? With seafood! Spicy calamari (gluten free!). House rolls with maple butter! Gluten free fried fish! Everything was spectacular with generous portion sizes. Wish I had two stomachs.
Great waitstaff. Delicious food. Can’t wait to go back! Stick with the homemade stuff…stuff you can’t make easily at home!
Hole in the dive bar with incredible food. Fresh seafood that is cooked perfect. Staff was great. It blew my mind that this place was not packed will go back
We walked over from our hotel and so glad we did. The room decor is wonderful. The food and the service was fantastic. Hubby had the filet mignon and said it was really good, my bacon cheeseburger was great as was the housemade berry vinegrette dressing.Definitely would go back.
Great place! The staff went above and beyond to make up a super yummy vegetarian dish for me!thank you so much! ? All food made to order from scratch. The chef came out and asked me how I like my meal! so thoughtful and friendly!
This place is AWESOME ! !We held a 50th Class Reunion here( July 2022 ) , with a total of 80 people. While it was close quarters, there was plenty of room for people to visit. The food was incredible ! ! You HAVE to check out the menu -- Traverse City Cherry Chicken, to Frog Legs, to steak, to elk, to alligator, to shrimp, to venison.Dave the manager and chef extraordinaire was amazing ! To get out 80 different meals in an acceptable time period was rare-- and appreciated! The staff is top notch . They were friendly, efficient, and kept their cool with such a large gathering-- also VERY much appreciated !I will be stopping here to eat whenever I am in the Frankenmuth/ Birch Run area ...........

Awesome wait staff? Great place to eat
We were recommended to come here from the Comfort Inn across the street. They said they had great home cooked meals. And they do. We had the scallops and grilled veggies over rice in a lemon butter sauce. Very good flavor. They were bay scallops not huge scallops. But we’re good. The homemade beef barley vegetable soup was awesome! The cherry/ berry pie with ice cream was yummy. Definitely a home cooked meal place! The place was all decorated in dog pictures very interesting!
This is a great spot for dinner! Great portion sizes and excellent service quality. If you get the baked pasta, be hungry!! The house made fries are amazing!
Was checking out the menu on line and seen the all you can eat Haddock dinner. Decided to try it out and very glad we did. Very friendly employees and our food was great. Found out the Chefs are also the owners. That to me is a big plus. All the more incentive to creat good meals. Very nice relaxing atmosphere. Wish I could add a star. We will go back.
