I donât understand how an owner can invest so much time & money into a new establishment and have such poorly trained counter help working - especially coming from Zingermanâs who have some of the best trained restaurant employees in the State. I ordered three quiches to go - one of each of the quiches that was left. The cashier asked the other employee to name the three quiches so she could ring us up - he came back, told her the names of the three quiches & she couldnât remember them and then asked me to go over to the case and tell her the names of the three quiches / when I suggested that she go to the counter herself - she reluctantly did, but also complained about us to the barista who just looked up at us with her Gen Z smirk - too bad for you, but we wonât be back!

Donât get the roast beef sandwich. All the ingredients are there, but lackluster preparation. No sauce on the sandwich or condiments available, cheese is cold and unmelted, and bread is overly toasted and hard. Cosplaying a bodega sandwich.

What a great find! We had a really delicious breakfast along with a warm mocha. They have an amazing display case with beautiful baked goods. Eric waited on us. He was so helpful and very kind. He went out of his way to make our experience was a blessing.
Excellent lattes/espresso and food - definitely some of the best in Birmingham! Awesome Atmosphere and employees as well. Glad this place exists because their lattes are my favorite :) *Edited because the owner was awesome in responding and taking constructive criticism to make the one small change, and that is what sets apart good business owners from excellent business owners. I hope Cafe Origin continues to flourish for years and years to come!*

Tried twice in one week. First visit, I got a smoothie. I watched as they put a bunch of liquid sugar / sour into it, and then it came out so sour that my jaw tightened. Second visit, I got a simple quiche to go. I waited almost 15 minutes for it to be âwarmed upâ and it still came out cold. The service made it a worse experience. The gal working the counter was very overly enthusiastic for 7am, and when flipping the computer to ask for a tip (on a pastry to go was quite odd), she hovered over to watch the tip be entered, and it was extremely uncomfortable. Smoothie was $10, quiche was $12! Prices are almost double anywhere else and the quality just isnât there to back it up. Wonât be coming back, Iâll stick to Canelle.

Coffee review only: Coffee was excellent! They have a couple of other drinks noted on the menu at the register and not on the large board. Espresso has a light but earthy flavor. Staff is friendly and happy they are open late!

Their raspberry matcha drink is so so good...I always find something that I like to try and it became my relaxing stop for a drink and treat.

I loved their orange juice!!! Also the pecan sticky bun is delicious. What a treat! They were out of smoothies when I went but the OJ made up for it and hit the spot. Staff is friendly and the place itself is so cute. I want to come back and try some food!
