“went yesterday for lunch. $7 happy hour. they had either gin or vodka for $7 so i got gin ???? and loved it too ? my bartender, who was literally a dream. amazing customer service… she made me a gin with a lavender lemonade or something like that and it was very good. It wasn’t super sweet and i could definitely taste the difference between the gin and tequila which is what i normally drink. The wings didn’t have a lot of flavor but the ranch was good and they kept their temperature for a very long time. I went back and forth either the whitefish pate and the wings and they never got cold. That’s major points in my book. They have a very seafood heavy menu. I would love to come back and try some more stuff.”

“A special day. A special night. Couldn't be better. Arranged by our son and daughter. The waiter did everything, except eat our food. The wines were a delight and the steak and salmon were prepared with artistry. He guided us with each entre and the salad was shared by us with dressing aside. Wine, was by the glass and was both red and white and light, semidry and elegant. Our perfect dinner ended the perfect evening. Thank you 220 Merrill for a wonderful 50th.”

The employees were so friendly, they turned my frown upside down! I got the Birmingham Chicken Wrap and an Active Smoothie, which were both super delicious and very healthy, This will 100% be my go to spot whenever I am in Birmingham!”

“Overall, the interior is very nice. The odd part is that some of the tables with the best view of the restaurant if you look one way also have a kitchen view if you look the other way. The tables are right next to a glass wall with the kitchen right on the other side. Who wants to look into a kitchen or have the kitchen workers literally standing over you at a nice restaurant? It's so odd because the restaurant is so nice otherwise. Hide the kitchen; don't make it a stage everyone can see. Other than that, the food is good and, if you turn your head the right way (away from the kitchen), the restaurant is really nice.”

I'm glad I did! the baristas recommended a brown sugar latte with pistachio milk and that's what I got, iced. It was phenomenal. Great price point for the quality of the product. “I got the spicy tuna bowl. I didn't like that it was ground tuna and not cubed. Food was good. Just didn't knock my socks off. More topping variety would be nice. They only have a few cans of coke, some other random canned drinks, and a bottle of water. Coke snd sushi is a weird mix. The place was warm inside...which made me question the temperature of the raw food. And that tainted my enjoyment of the meal. Parking was a nightmare, but it was a Friday night.”

“The wagyu carne asada was well-seasoned. My only problem was the spiciness of the roasted jalapeño that came with my entree; it was a bit too spicy for me. I also purchased the blueberry muffin and the iced hibiscus drink. The muffin was nice and sweet, but the beverage I ordered was bland.”

“This review is for the Royal Oak Roast only. The road is full of as*holes , the world going to sh*t more and more. The people in charge care not at all and we are on a very possible path to doom. Why not stop in at Royal Oak Roast? It’s a comfy place with great people watching. The coffee is wonderful and refills are a dollar. So many different coffee choices in all styles, including espresso over over Weiss vanilla ice cream!!! The kitchen, yes I said kitchen has scrumptious food that is presented beautifully with the seasonal selections. All this sound good? Well that’s not even the best part. It’s the staff. “Shish Kebab Express has become my go-to spot for lunch, whether I’m ordering just for myself or sharing with coworkers. I usually order from there once a week. Their Chicken Almond Rice Salad, Chicken Ghallaba Sandwich, and Oregano Chicken are my favorites—every bite is consistently delicious and full of flavor.

The portions are always generous, and the value for the price is unbeatable. “We had an outstanding experience at Madam. I hosted a work dinner for ten people there on a Thursday night. It was a perfect venue, quiet enough for good conversation and everyone loved the food.

It was all delicious, from the appetizers (especially the beet salad) and entrees through dessert. Our server, Jodi, was very professional and gave great recommendations for dishes to share.

The meal was timed well, without lag time or feeling rushed. This is also an absolutely gorgeous place. Would definitely return and recommend to others.

Parking: There is metered street parking, a paid garage around the corner and a valet. The valet can accept credit cards.”

“Went for my birthday. It was nice and cozy as we sat outside on the patio. However can be a bit noisy with cars going by(wasn’t a lot of traffic) and the usual chatters of the patrons . Food was good and our waitress was very attentive and gave great suggestions. Overall great place to have dinner.”

“Ordered online with a pickup time of 3:23pm.
Waited and timed the order specifically so that my arrival from miles away would coincide with the ready time.
Although it would normally be a “good thing” to have super fast service… when remote orders are concerned and hot or frozen/nearly frozen food will be sitting out - it’s preferable to keep a tighter pace with the advertised timing.

Our Acai bowls, smoothie, and loaded up toast was ready nearly 20 minutes before projected, and there was nothing I could do to arrive sooner to get it fresh.

My toast was cool, floppy, and a bit wet, and my smoothie was sweating and kindof watery after picking it up “on time”. I don’t think the açaí bowls suffered much… but other reviews have said that the açaí is pretty well frozen to begin with.

That all being said, the smoothie flavor was VERY good (banana pineapple vanilla protein), and the toast flavor was pretty good also - a bit on the sweet side, but satisfying and a nice/interesting mix of flavors. (Dave’s Kller bread, Granola butter, banana, hemp heart, maple syrup)

For the price point, I’d rather not see my healthy-ingredient toast in a styrofoam container, especially if it was warm and it’s placed directly on the styrofoam without a paper liner. It’s a mismatch with the health factor.

I’d definitely eat the food/visit again.
Parking/traffic was easy enough… it’s the tip of downtown and was an easy in & out.
I’d take measures to dial in order timing, skip the maple syrup over the already-sweet granola butter, and try to find a work-around for the styrofoam, though.”

“On Set. 19, I brought my 96-yr-old mom here for a drink and hors d'oeuvres. I had sent a note on the online reservation form that we would appreciate a quiet table. The receptionist had knowledge of the request without my saying anything, and immediately showed me three locations she thought would suit. I wish I had gotten her name, for management to commend her. (We arrived at 5:15, which should help you know to whom I refer.) We sat in a booth, and our server, Usama, made our nearly 3-hr (!) visit truly joyful and perfect! Again, management - please take note. We agreed that he was the best waiter either of us have ever had - attentive, fun and funny, and going the extra mile in tailoring our drinks to our (sweet-tooth!) tastes, and making us feel welcome and special. This was likely my mom's final "fancy" outing, and I am so grateful to Usama for making it perfect. Kudos also to the chefs. Our 3 dishes were superb - beef tips, shrimp, hummus.”

I liked that their meal also came with a salad and dessert. I started off with the calamari and it was delicious. The Tomahawk was one the best steaks I've had in a long time! The Cesar salad was tasty. I wasn't a huge fan of the Fleming's Potatoes, they lacked flavor. The mashed potatoes was good, I added lobster to them. The cheesecake was just okay, it tasted like it had been frozen and thawed. It didn't have a fresh taste. Overall, I would definitely come back”
