Hidden gem—almost impossible to see the name of this little restaurant, so it’s easy to miss! But what a fun surprise when you do find it. Great drinks—I tried the Hibiscus Margarita, my hubby had the classic. Very tasty! The food had great authentic flavor and was very reasonably priced for Birmingham. I had the shrimp taco and didn’t love how thick the soft shell was, but the flavor was delicious and the sauce with the shrimp was yummy. My hubby and daughter loved their dishes. He got a steak special and she got the Biria dish.
The coconut cake and churro cheese cake dessert were fabulous and worth the calories!
Service was great, friendly and helpful!
We will definitely be back! And next time I will get pictures!

Ate there a few days ago and I WILL be back because the price point for the quality of food is rarely seen in today’s time

I can see why this is my sisters favorite place for a spontaneous date night. Very walkable. Fun setting and thoughtful service. Delicious food and drinks. Well done!

The food and service were both very good, most important things.sitting on the patio was nice, house music is blasting so lound can't talk to people you're with, the girls at the table next to us were vaping throughout dinner, definitely not locals dinning there

The food was soooo good, I ordered the shrimp tacos and garlic cilantro potatoes! Everything tasted so fresh, I guac and chips to start - it was even better than the ones in Mexico. I came out with three of my friends and our waitress Lorena was the absolute sweetest! She was so kind and very helpful with the menu! I will definitely be coming back!

The food was sooooo good and the vibe was fantastic. Very relaxed (music wasn't super loud) and people bustling in and out. Chips and guac were so fresh. Plantains are not to be missed. I'm so glad I was there when chimichangas were on the menu ❤️

Food was overall pretty good but very expensive for not a lot of food. Birria tacos were 14 bucks for 2 tacos. The guacamole was 10 bucks for a small cup. And the service wasn’t the best either.

A funny name with very good eats. I’m curious as to its origin. Located across from Booth Park and other cool eateries the atmosphere is great. I gather this is one of Birmingham’s newest. I’d classify Employee as a higher end street food restaurant. It’s like a humble street food truck owner decided to get crafty and experiment. I have a bias to simpler ingredient mixes, yet I wasn’t turned off in anyway…I found it refreshingly vibrant. The atmosphere is trendy and reminds me of an upscale casual spot you’d find in Mexico City of the many tourist hotspots scattered throughout Mexico. I enjoyed different taco interpretations & a few other side dishes. I certainly recommend giving this place a go.

Tucked away in Downtown Birmingham you'll find EM, you'll probably miss it if you're not looking for it but it's a little jem if you do. First time walking in my thought was smallish but hip and modern. Very laid back atmosphere. The food was very tasty. They had a few options I wasn't familiar with but I was coaxed into trying from friends and pleased I did. Alitte after 5pm on a weekday it went from my table and maybe 2 others to a packed house with 30 minutes. I guess that can attest to it's popularity. Again, smaller but a cool place to bring a date or stop by after work with friends.

I’ve always enjoyed the food and table service at this restaurant, but my recent experience at the bar was very disappointing. A bartender with tattoos was “serving” me, but her attitude and demeanor were terrible. She had a bad attitude, took forever to take my order, and was extremely slow with the check. To make matters worse, she spent most of her time chatting and taking shots with a customer in the corner while ignoring everyone else. This was my first time sitting at the bar, and it will definitely be my last. 👎🏻⛳
