Hours listed online post 12am close time on Friday. I got to the door at 10:57 pm with an hour to spare. I see people inside at the bar and staff behind the counter. The door is locked, puzzled I look through the window and she looks at me and gives me the closed sign across the neck. Fairly frustrating because I drove 25 min to get there. Will not come back, ever.

Nothing bad about this spot. Food and drinks are good. Only experienced one server who wasn't very helpful or knowledgeable about the menu.

This is my go to place for Mexican food in Birmingham. Next to Market Northend, smaller and also accessible when you have no reservations elsewhere. The servers are incredible, the drinks they come up with are always great - especially if you love Mezcal.I typically order the “Big Mac” Slider special, ceviche, or the Fajita Bowl. It’s like a chipotle bowl, but higher quality. The desserts are super delicious, you have to get them both.

The nicest thing about this restaurant is the venue design. Only good for small groups(4 or less people). Bar service was the best part as far as service goes.I see people praising the salsa, guacamole, and chips as a starter and even that had poor taste, freshness, and quality. The salsa tasted like Little Caesars pizza sauce mixed with chopped tomatoes and our chips were stale even after informing the staff. We tried a few things and were left wanting. I'm sure they have some average tasting things on the menu that would increase my rating, but was it off from the moment we walked in to the time we left.

First time there and it was absolutely amazing! Naomi was our server, she was super friendly and made sure we got our food in a timely manner. I ordered a drink called the world traveler because she said it was good and it was extremely good!! Everyone in there was so nice and pleasant. Can’t wait to go back!!!

9-30-2023A little difficult to access bc of construction ( I use a wheelchair) but we enjoyed our margs and the standout Big Mac Gringa. Also tried the Taquitos and salsa flight. For dessert we recommend the very tasty Acapulco cake. Service was great and weather allowed for an outside table. Very nice experience

All the food that we had was delicious. The curled corn was to die for. Everything was very fresh as well. We had the shrimp ceviche and guacamole as apps and they were both delicious. The barbacoa tacos were delicious as well. This place would have been a 4Or 5 for me but my friend found a hair in her fish tacos :-( they were great about taking it off the bill but didn't seem that apologetic about it. I think it's definitely worth a try.

Had high hopes for this place but the food turned out to be a half-hearted example of elevated Mexican that didn't deliver on its considerable promise. The meat was dry, cilantro potatoes fairly bland and duck fat fries overcooked. I also despise all high table seating. Too much form, not nearly enough substance. Go to their parent restaurant instead!

The food is as authentic as you’re going to get in SE MI. And the drinks can be customized, which is great. Some of the staff, particularly the bar staff are a bit rough around the edges.

Great experience here a few nights ago. Attentive service, unique food menu, and outstanding tequila selection! The ambience was cozy bohemian. Sea bass, mixed ceviche, and elotes were amazing. I will surely be back!

I love this place. The music is amazing and gives off a Miami vibe. EM also serves all of my fave things: ceviche, octopus and fried snapper. The drinks were perfect and I can't wait to go back! So fun!
