Loved gryro ( yee-ho) . Recommend trying it
Did not relish the grape leaf item served with yellowish coloured rice . It was not bad but not to my taste . Others dining with us seemed ok with it . They also didnot say it is a wow .
It was the first time in this place
Every thing was great
I will back soon to try sitting outside
Best Coney Island around. Everything on the menu is great. It's clean and the service is excellent!!!
y\\You guys are the best I really love eating there
Always good people, gave me free baklava on my birthday. Never disappoints on a night out.
I like the lamb shank, the atmosphere, and the kosher pricing!
Very nice service and food I’m glad
Love coming here, have a two boys that are 4 and 6 and they have tons of options that they love. The greek salad is the best in town as well.

Greek Islands is a local staple for Birmingham! I have been coming here for over 20 years and it’s my kids favorite place. The restaurant bas seemed to be even busier as of late but the quality of service and food has been amazing. I bring friends and family from out of town and they always say “I wish I had this in my town” I look forward to many more years of enjoying Greek Islands.

If you stick with the Greek classics you’ll be happy - breakfast and all potatoes need help - honestly I think they need to just scale down menu to classics. I’ll go back for a Greek salad with chicken & pita - their light dressing is very good - so is the spinach pie. Service is generally A+ so ill be back ?

The good: very convenient for parking; clean, bright and welcoming interior, nice-looking menu. The "small" chicken salad was actually quite a good size.
The not so great: service wasn't great--a little slow to get the food, and waiter never checked back after delivering food. Prices on the high side; chicken salad contained plenty of chicken, but underneath lay a lot of tasteless iceberg lettuce and not much else, and the meat was kinda bland (might have benefited from a bit more seasoning and a little more time on the grill before cutting/serving?). The omelette was a little dry and over-done, and the hash browns that I'd asked to have "well done" were indeed brown, but came as a very firm rectangular 'block' (not loose). Fries on the side were a little underdone and not especially hot.
The bad: Instead of ordering a Greek omelette and just omitting a few things and adding avocado ($2 more), I foolishly ordered my omelette with spinach, tomato, cheese and avocado, which came up to $16.50 -- seemed very steep considering.
Overall: Poor value for money, not impressed and won't be going back. A shame really, because it's convenient for parking and shopping in the area.

One of my favorites for lunch in the area!! I swing by at least twice a week and have great service by everyone there. Their smiles bring me smiles and I cannot appreciate that enough. 10/10 recommendation for this amazing local restaurant!

If you’re ever in the mood for a culinary experience that feels like a warm hug from a hot dog, then look no further than Greek Islands This place is the kind of joint that makes you question your life choices while simultaneously reaffirming them with every bite of chili cheese fries.
First off, let’s talk about the decor. It’s a charming mix of modern and “I found this booth on Craigslist” chic. The walls are adorned with pictures of happy families, likely after they’ve consumed enough coney dogs to fuel a small rocket. You might even spot a few local celebrities—well, at least their autographed napkins.
Now, the menu—oh boy! It’s like a love letter to the American diet. The coney dogs are so good, you’ll want to propose. Just don’t forget to add the chili, onions, and a mountain of nacho cheese—because who doesn’t want their arteries to sing?! The fries? Let’s just say they should come with a warning label: “May cause uncontrollable happiness and a lifelong obsession.”
And the service? It’s like being served by your favorite aunt who’s had one too many cups of coffee. They’re friendly, a little chaotic, and will definitely ask if you’re “really ready for that third coney.” Spoiler alert: you are.
As you sit there, devouring your meal, you can't help but notice the symphony of sounds around you: the sizzling of the grill, the laughter of kids, and that one guy who’s definitely overdoing it on the hot sauce.
In conclusion, if you’re looking for a place where the food is as comforting as a warm blanket and the atmosphere is a delightful mix of chaos and thank god I am here, Greek Islands is your spot. Just remember to leave your dignity at the door—and maybe wear stretchy pants. You’ll thank me later!

My friends, family, and I go here often and love their food. They have the best Greek food as well as American and the classic coney dog! Great place to bring the family!
