This is my go to spot whenever I’m in Birmingham. The food is phenomenal and the customer service is great. Dining outside in the summer is such a vibe!

We had dinner recently at a restaurant in downtown Birmingham, and overall, it was a solid experience with a few highs and a couple of minor drawbacks.
To start, the drinks were excellent — well-crafted and refreshing, which set a nice tone for the evening. The atmosphere of the place was lively yet relaxed, with a modern urban vibe that fits well with the downtown Birmingham scene. It’s the kind of spot that feels casual but still stylish enough for a date night or a dinner out with friends.
For our meals, I ordered the Lux Burger, and my wife went with the Grilled Chicken Club. The burger was good — well-seasoned, juicy, and definitely flavorful. It’s what you’d expect from a quality restaurant burger. That said, while it was enjoyable, it didn’t stand out enough to make me feel like I’d return just for the burger. Still, it was a solid, satisfying choice. My wife enjoyed her chicken club as well — grilled just right, fresh toppings, and a nice balance of flavors.
The service was mostly pleasant. Our waitress was friendly and welcoming, checking in at the right times without hovering. However, one issue we ran into was with the bill. We were a group of three couples, and she didn’t split the check, even though it was clearly a group dining situation. That made things a bit inconvenient, as one person had to foot the entire bill, and now we’re left trying to figure out who ordered what and sort out payments afterward. It’s not a dealbreaker, but in this day and age, it’s something that could easily be handled better and would’ve made for a smoother end to the meal.
In summary, it’s a good downtown dining option — nice setting, great drinks, friendly staff, and solid food. A few small tweaks (like better billing flexibility) would really elevate the experience. Worth checking out if you’re in the area, especially for a relaxed evening out with friends.

I had the ribs. Woke up later that night with severe indigestion-very unusual for me. But our server was great! We had a tiny table kind of in the main walking space- it was crowded- but seemed ok. Overall I’d try it again but not the ribs.

Put our name on list for party of 2. A party of 2 came in after us and then a party of 3. The party of 3 didn’t have to be put on list and were seated right away and before us. I questioned why and the girl said because only 3 or more can sit in a booth which didn’t make sense because the tables across from them are tables of 4. Both the tables and booths seat 4. We decided to leave because we didn’t like the way they run their business
I’ve been going here for a couple years. Use to go more frequently but not anymore because of prices and wait times. Also sometimes for the price the portion is really small :/ I still enjoy eating there from time to time and the food I always get is usually on point. I tend to order the same thing but I don’t doubt the other food is good too! I just wish they were a little bigger because it can be so crowded in there. I’d recommend it’s simple bar food in a sense but a little amplified. Still yummy and a classic place to go

I guess living partial abroad and being spoiled by establishments in Dubai has me disappointed with many of my hometown restaurants. It’s been awhile since having a nondescript meal here; and I was disappointed. It was a Thursday night and not real busy; so I ordered one of the burgers which this place is typically known for. It was flat with no substance. I guess the only way I can be pleased with any informal fare is to make it from home.

This place is one of the best, scatch that it is the best. All meals cooked with tenderness and care and the max and cheese is to die for. So so good.
