I attended a business meeting in the back room and was amazed at how good the food was, and how willing they were to modify a couple of dishes to accommodate a couple of us that were gluten free.

I came in for a special celebration and requested a booth on my reservation. When we arrived, the hostess tried seating us at a tiny two-top. I was like, nah son, not for my special day! So I asked to be seated somewhere else. She seemed annoyed and rolled her eyes, which was not the warm welcome I expected. Eventually, she gave us a half booth, but the attitude was definitely felt.

Thankfully, things completely turned around once we were in Emdad’s hands. He was the exact opposite; polite, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. His service made the night feel special again.

The food was phenomenal, the muhadra and mjadara with Lebanese salad were absolute standouts, and the Enlightenment mocktail was excellent. Between the incredible food and Emdad’s top-tier hospitality, the night ended on a high note.

I’d come back for the food and Emdad’s service any day, hopefully next time the front door energy matches what’s coming out of the kitchen.

Possibly the best Lebanese food I've ever had in my life, and it's one of my favorite cuisines. Also great service - trust your waitress' recommendations. Good wine list, tasty cocktails in the Lebanese theme. We all agreed that we wish we had room to eat more. Pricey, but well worth it.

The food was okay and definitely not what it used to be to be! Our waiter was great but other staff didn’t seem welcoming. Definitely overpriced!

Phoenicia has been my parents’ go-to spot forever—even back when it was at the original location. We absolutely love the Birmingham location for its convenient parking, prime spot on Old Woodward, and of course, the food… oh, the food! Every dish is packed with flavor, and the spices truly elevate the entire experience. The drinks are always perfectly crafted, and the service makes you feel like a million bucks. We’ve never had a bad experience. Keep doing what you’re doing—we love y’all!

The service was friendly, but that’s the only good thing I can say. My main dish was burnt and completely lacked flavor. For $44, I expected something much better — this definitely wasn’t worth the price.

The presentation was sloppy, and the food felt like a rushed afterthought. Disappointing overall. I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for real Middle Eastern food
