Claude is a delightful French lady who owns this restaurant. My friend and I felt like we found a real hidden gem with this place that I found had the look and feel of my vacation to Southern France. The quiche and the ham and cheese sandwich (which had a French name) were our favorites. We found that the Cream Brulee wasn't as sweet as we were accustomed to, but I chalk that up to Europeans not using as much sugar as Americans. It was still creamy and delicious. Claude also played the harp beautifully when she was able, between waiting on customers. Overall, it was a wonderful lunch experience. I can't wait to bring more friends and family ❤️

I was first so thrilled to experience the French Tea iin beautiful Birmingam for a quaint birthday experience. It waa a disaster. Started with an over booked venue. Hardly any harp music until almost the end of the food service. The food took way to long. it took 105 minutes to be served .The sandwich bread was bland and dry. the tea fillings were sparce and way too bland. We had to request cream and sugar, and the sugar we received was one individually wrapped sugar cube per person… and that happened once; over the course of 4 hours, individuals received one individual sugar cube. There was nothing special about the dessert. whipped moose in cheap style dixie cups.More like an ole time picnic in the park.I would have been delighted if a 5 year old put this together. 60.OO dollars per person at that. There was no frills.People we so agitated that they walked out when the food was presented. Told the cook turn harpest “we are not use ro this” I dont want to be so rude but it was our hard earned dollars and a celebration we wasted. The others at the table said to their group”we will go somewhere to eat ,leave the sandwiches.” All false advertisement. We all deserve a half refund at least and another invite ri correct this disaster!

We bought tickets for an “Exclusive”tea at The French Lady widely advertised on the internet on 2/26/24. For $60 per person this experience was dismal and disastrous on every level. The tables were crowded and not set properly- no decor, our table had no table cloth. We were 30 customers anticipating a special afternoon tea, however after an hour of sitting at our bare table we were served some mediocre sandwiches on stale bread. There was no description of our menu, no accommodation for dietary restrictions until we specifically inquired what exactly were we being served. The tea was ok but they did not provide honey, a sugar bowl, for our table. No giant luscious croissants and butter/jam were served as shown in the photo, or french delicacies as described in the marketing text. Two meager cream based dessert were served in a takeout condiment cup and plastic cup containers. Sadly, the whole presentation or lack thereof was exasperating! I spent $186 for 3 of us and it was the most awful experience. Truly, we ALL deserve a refund. The proprietor was ill prepared and the event was understaffed. Worst food/tea experience ever. Silver lining is that we made some lovely friends we will be connecting with soon.

Sunday tea...where do I begin? This experience was terrible from the moment of disorganized chaos walking in the door. Cheap plastic and paper napkins were used. Other than the tea cups, there was no other decor, flowers or pretty serving pieces. The food was terrible along with the presentation. I thought being a French place, they would knock it out of the park with dessert...nope. It appeared that the owner was the hostess, the chef, pastry chef , the kitchen help AND the musician. No one person can do all of these effectively. The wait staff looked like teenagers off the street and when asked about the food, couldn't answer basic questions. Several tables actually got up and walked out so it wasnt just us unhappy. We only stayed because we met three other women and enjoyed their company. When we did leave, we went to a restaurant down the road because we were all so hungry. What a total disappointment! Please don't be lured by the beautiful photos; That's not what you get.

We paid $60 a person for an elegant French tea experience. We were kept waiting outside in line for our 3:30pm reservation. The space was over crowded. We were packed in on top of each other and it was very loud. We were served tea after about 10 minutes of being seated and asked twice for milk and sugar. We were served another cup (still no milk or sugar). When the waiter came with the sugar he handed us one single wrapped lump. Our sad little tea sandwiches and a blob of patè (that was inedible- see pic) with a gerkin plopped in the center showed up at 4:40pm and the event ended at 5:30. We were told there would be harp music, that never happened. We got up and left our "food" on the table. The table behind us did the same. We will be requesting a refund. My friends and I regularly go to tea and this was the worst experienced we've ever had. The pictures on the website and Facebook looked nothing like what we were served. So disappointing.... We weren't served ANYTHING that is listed in the meals that Google asked me to Recommend below.

So glad we discovered this charming little place. Claude, the French lady, is not only an amazing cook, she is a warm and gracious host. Best French cooking in a long while, since our local favorites closed. We are now thinking of some good excuses to go back to Detroit and sample the rest of her menu.

We had our wedding shower there and they made a custom menu for our private event. Claude & Alexander were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They made our day feel very special. Both are incredible chefs and the cake they made us was amazing. I can’t say enough about our experience. I highly recommend this place.
