Waitress was rude . We got the hell out of there . No microwave to melt butter. You have to put cold pats of butter on French toast French toast is just thin bread my husband asked what vegetables came on omelette. She goes everything and a real nasty tone and walked away. We said let’s get the hell out of here and walked out zero stars.

This is a super cute restaurant! It has fabulous brunch options and delicious food! It’s usually pretty busy, so get there early to put your name on the reservation list and be prepared to wait. It’s worth it though!

I do not like having 20% tip automatically. I want to tip based on service and effort.

Probably the best brunch spot in B’Ham. Love the French toast, the curious George coffee, and their breakfast sandwich. Also very family friendly.Kid-friendliness: Very comfy and kid-friendly spot, not sure what else to say.

Toast is a Birmingham favorite. From their amazing coffee drinks (try the Spanish) to their unique omelettes (get the brie) there are few things not to like. Situated in the heart of the city, parks, shops, and other eateries are no more than a few steps away. Definitely stop in for a bite.

Absolutely enJoyed my experience. I visited on Monday about 9:30. Was greeted and seated right away. I ordered the Campfire Hot Chocolate as usual but ordered the Smoked Fish Platter for the first time. It was delish! Also enJoyed being seated in the window. I like that the entrance has been expanded since the last time I visited. Great expansion idea. Thank you for the experience Toast!

As other reviews have stated, I don't agree with the automatic 20% gratuity. The server came 3x. Give us our water, take our order and give us the check. I had to give our card to another server. Food. Coffee was good but didn't like the silver spoon they put inside the mug. Why do that? Trashy hash. Just like the name. Trashy. It was mushy and bland. Like someone's throw up. Maybe ask them to take out the gravy? Cuz it did nothing for the food Enchilada. Again, bland and not much to eat. The black beans looked like they were molded and / or old dry. Didn't even touch it. Conclusion Will not be dining here again. The food was not worth the 40 min wait for Sunday 2pm

I came to toast on Feb 10th 20224 for breakfast. The servicer only came twice ,one time take our order and one time to get her check. First: The waiter made us feel she was not obligated to give a good service because she knows her 20% tip is already going to be taken. Second: The egg in omelette tasted funny, not sure if something wrong with egg or was the type egg they use, but definitely both of us had food poisoning over the weekend. This will be our last time to try this place. Not to mention my order was made wrongly but I accepted to keep eat. This review is for the poor establishment etiquette of adding an "auto-tip" to the bill. Tips are freely given as an expression of gratitude for service received. To the establishment: Charge more for your menu if you wish, *pay your staff fairly* , leave the tip for your customers to manage themselves. I encourage all to patronize establishments that live by these rules, and regardless of what "auto tips" are placed, leave your own total on the credit slip as *you* feel appropriate.

Food is mediocre, they charge for refills on ice tea, the staff can be very surly, and parking is not easy. In the summer, the ambience is nice when you can eat outside.
