Horrible service, horrible employees, and excessive wait times for mobile orders

They were not really friendly at all , I said hello twice both times the guy didn’t say anything .

I watched as my warmed food sat on the counter for 10+ minutes after I had already received the rest of my mobile order. When I went to the counter to ask about my pastry (the item that took the least amount of time in my order), I was met with silence as the cashier basically threw the bag at me. I had already waited 27 minutes for my mobile order of 2 lattes and egg bites even though the app said it would be ready in 13 minutes.

This has to be the worst Starbucks experience in Oakland County. Only Downtown Detroit could be matched in lack of service.

The staff is seemingly allergic to eye contact. They all just mill about, looking down at the machines/drinks, and mumble out people’s names with zero friendliness.

ZERO sense of urgency among ANYONE in this store. It’s like they’re all in slow motion regardless of how in the weeds and behind on drinks they are. There’s ALWAYS a mob of people standing around frustrated and waiting forever for their drinks. They’ve NEVER delivered an item within the estimated time from the app, in my multiple experiences.

A regional manager needs to get in here and do something. This is a joke of a store.

Update from latest visit 10/28/25: Lowering from 2⭐️ to 1⭐️ since no one seems to be doing anything about the issues that almost every review mentions and it’s been this way for years now.

Staff is moving in slow motion. It’s no wonder orders always take way longer at this location. They don’t care. They don’t make eye contact. They mumble when they call names for drinks. You would think Starbucks leadership must be mistreating these people for them to show up and act like this every single day.

I have never had a worse experience at a Starbucks. The woman who was working the counter was rude, dishonest and should not be in a customer facing role there. I will never return to that location despite it being within a mile of my home and on my way to work. Shame ful

I recently visited the Starbucks in downtown Birmingham, Michigan, and it did not disappoint! This location is one of the more spacious ones I've encountered, with a nice layout that seamlessly connects the indoors and outdoors. The service was friendly as always, making the experience even more enjoyable. I treated myself to a delightful vanilla bean frappé, while one of the little divas enjoyed a strawberry frappé. Overall, it was a wonderful visit, and I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to relax with a great drink in a comfortable setting!

Horrible service. I stood for several minutes in an empty order area while both employees kept working. Then another woman walks in and is immediately greeted and attended to. I walked out and won't return. Shame for discrimination. And yes her and I were of different race.

Terrible customer service when ordering the employee forgot to let me scan my rewards and was no where to be found when I had to pay (payed with Apple Pay) and the drinks were so bad.

Rude personnel, unfortunately a companion was having a medical emergency, I asked quickly for a glass of water, another worker asked the other female preparer, did he buy anything? She informed me, we will do it this time but next time you have to buy something. BTW the lady having the episode had already made a food and drink purchase. Poor customer service and lack of compassion.

Generally enjoy Starbucks - this one not so much. Been in to visit the past 2 week and you cannot get a real coffee past 630pm (probably earlier). Had to settle for pour over and this week I was only offered a "blonde americano" that was basically water. Mopped around my table as I tried to finish my work, then I had to leave as they closed promptly at 730pm....avoid this location if you can
