There is a lot to choose from at Zalmans Bake Shop. They have a great variety of desserts, breakfast pastries, and other baked goods (The rice krispy treats are HUGE). My favorite item I have tried so far is the carrot cake. No nuts, no raisins which is how I like it!

They have the best monthly features!! We were here in January and the Coconut cake was so good! I hope they make it a staple on their menu :)

We had a breakfast reservation. Although seated on time, it took 45 minutes to get the waitress to bring our food which was called. We had to remind her to provide us with silverware, and it was very difficult to all of the items we requested to be brought to West in fact, most of the food was cold, and the order were not complete. We went out of our way to go to this delicatessen because we thought we could support our grandchildren. It didn't work.
Food was great. Delivery timing imperfect so table was crowded with really big plates and bowls, but that's minor. Friends were half way through entrees when mine finally arrived due to a prep mistake in the kitchen. I received a free dessert as compensation, but that wasn't necessary. Thoroughly enjoyable, but it added up quickly. Two entree salads, a shared matzo soup, an app shared with our friends, a soda, and a coffee, and we were pushing $80. But everything was delicious, of high quality and prepared correctly. Worth it, in my opinion. Dinner companions liked their meals, but thought 4 standard-sized shrimp was a bit short of a serving size.
Portions are generous. My husband and I ordered the omelette and we enjoyed it. Side of bacon was cooked crispy as ordered. Enjoyed the grapefruit mimosa. Daughter ordered the chicken schnitzel on focaccia and really loved that. We took home desserts to go which were great also, s'mores tart and vanilla bean cheesecake.
The food was not up to par and not at all worth it for the price. Meatloaf was undercooked and tasted more like filler than meat and the chicken (strips) and biscuit were very disappointing for the cost. The service and bakery items were good, but we would not return.
We were disappointed . Apparently they just started serving dinner so maybe breakfast & lunch are their thing. There were only 3 tables in the restaurant ours being bigger party . All The food was cold but flavors were ok. But with so few in the place , we should not have been eating cold food . And if server had come back - we'd have told them . We had 3 of the same sandwiches - all 3 were different none of them good . Felt expensive for what you got. Felt good about having a reservation but that was the only thing.
They put us in a back room that was freezing. we had to keep our jackets on through the whole meal. The waiter was terrible. I think he was severely hung over or had some other problems

Bad acoustics due to no noise absorption. Every clink and spoon tap ricocheted around the space. There was an odd smell when we entered which was opening at 5 with one other table seated. The food was disappointing; they make a point of advertising matzoh ball soup and other Jewish deli faves and they are not on the menu. My sons fish and chips were barely edible. Fries were cold. Like I said we were table #2 at doors opening. My pancakes were possibly not made same day. My guess was frozen and reheated. OJ not fresh. Canned and very sour. Really disappointing.
Went for Mother's day brunch in the ballroom. The food was not as hot as you would expect. Some items were precut (meats) and some were not under heat lamps (eggs benedict). All tables were round for 10 people and we only had 3 people so it felt awkward. Overall enjoyable but would not return for $75 per person (plus tax and gratuity).
The food was amazing. The service needs improvement. The server Alexis was not focused on serving. She was often distracted and talking to other employees why our drinks were empty. I think that you have a great menu; however, the staff needs better training or management had to do a better job at supervision.
Sadly our waitress was reaching over people unnecessarily.. she rarely smiled.. we had little ones and one of their pancake meals was late to reach the table.. she never refilled coffee or the hot water for the tea. We eaten there several times and everything was amazing.. not sure what happened today.
Be mindful that their “prices change”. Ordered a cake from the bakery part of the restaurant for my reservation. Was quoted $30 & website said $30- when I received my receipt when I dined for my reservation a few days later I was charged $35. Thinking it was a cutting fee (they didn't cut the cake, we did) & no writing on cake (that's an up charge) I inquired. I was told “we changed our prices”. So they're allowed to change their price & charge more after you were quoted $30. Terrible customer service on their end.
