The food is soooo good! We ordered the pulled pork potato skins, smoked turkey sandwich, and chili. My husband tried the golden ale and pilsner. I had the mulled wine. Everything was phenomenal! Service was wonderful as well.
River Saint Joe is a charming and inviting farmstead brewery located in Buchanan, Indiana. The brewery is nestled on the scenic Flatwater Farm, offering a unique and delightful experience that combines delicious craft beer, farm-to-table food, and a beautiful, rustic atmosphere.
The brewery's atmosphere is both relaxed and professional. The tasting room features large windows overlooking the farm, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. There's also plenty of outdoor seating with stunning views of the surrounding countryside, providing a peaceful and tranquil setting for guests to enjoy their beverages and meals.
The farm itself is a highlight of the River Saint Joe experience. Visitors can take a stroll around the grounds and see the organic hops and other ingredients that are used to make the beer. This is a great way to connect with nature and appreciate the farm-to-table concept.
There's also a wide variety of activities to enjoy at River Saint Joe. Besides enjoying the delicious food and drinks, guests can play yard games, relax by the fire pit, or simply soak up the peaceful atmosphere. The brewery also hosts regular events, such as live music and trivia nights.
One of my most beloved features of River Saint Joe is Snowball the cat, a friendly feline who is a regular fixture at the brewery. Snowball adds a touch of charm and personality to the already wonderful experience. Everyone said hello to him as he made his rounds.
Overall, River Saint Joe is a truly unique and memorable brewery experience. It's a great place to relax, enjoy delicious food and drinks, and appreciate the beauty of the surrounding countryside.
This place is fantastic for atmosphere and food. The staff here is great as well. There is plenty of seating and plenty of games outside. Firepits everywhere, which is pretty cool. I would just love to hang here all day. The only negative thing for me was the beer. It was very hit or miss. I am willing to give another try since everything else here is great.
Great beer and cider! Relaxing atmosphere. Looking forward to next visit.
Thank you River Saint Joe! We accidentally discovered this location on Mother's Day this year and returned multiple times since. We love the outside seating and the places for the kids to wander while waiting for the food. The food was great and the drink flights were fun. We are looking forward to coming back again next summer!
Nice place dog friendly
Brought us the wrong order. Waited longer for the right order. We had the burgers cooked medium. What we got were some frozen patties cooked well. So hard that my dog ate mine. The Porter I ordered was also very weak and pale. Poor service. Even walking up to the place we were not impressed with the grounds as everything was weedy and overgrown. So, to recap, bad service, bad food, bad care of the grounds. No discount was offered despite me telling him my burger was overcooked and waiting as the wrong order was delivered and not eating my meal.
Great atmosphere, great food, great drinks, and dog friendly!
This place is beautiful and is great for a hang out area. The beer was good but didn't get to try much due to service. Probably a good 25+ minutes of glasses being empty before anyone coming to ask if we wanted more. Got to make several eye contacts trying to flag a server down. I got the pulled pork that was cold, mine came with a pickle. My husband got the same meal but no pickle. Our son got Mac and cheese, never got the fruit until I mentioned it with the check. Also asked for a to go container and never received it. The hostess also told us she had a table ready 3 times she is going to wipe it down but spent 22 minutes waiting for a table she said was open. Overall, it's pretty. Lacks consistency and service skills.
An absolute gem.
No notes.

We hosted our rehearsal dinner at River St. Joe under the big tent outside. This is one of our favorite restaurants in the area because of the farm setting and great in-house brewery. We were able to do a complimentary drinks tasting to choose the right menu for our bar. Day-of they brought selected beers down to the tent for on-tap service, and also bought lemonade and other drinks for kids. The drinks were paid per-consumption which also made it incredibly affordable. River St. Joe is awesome and very laid back atmosphere. Note: because the team is small, it has a DIY feel as everyone has multiple jobs! This lead to great things like a speaker/mic being provided for us to play music/speeches but it also meant that we had to pay that night for drinks rather than deposit/invoice which is more standard.
Unique experience sitting outside and being able to enjoy the beautiful weather and talking to hubby!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! My husband and I travel all over to check out breweries, wineries/cider. This is by far one of the best places we have experienced. If you're looking for fresh, authentic food, this is it. It's not over-seasoned or fancy, just great, farm to table type food. We loved the broccoli salad as a side option! The cider and beer is top notch! Some of the best we've ever tried! The strawberry basil cider is one I could drink every day! The mulberry beer is absolutely phenomenal! We wish we had brought growlers to take fills home. The setting is stunning as well! Definitely feels like a rustic, yet classy winery/orchard.
I have no idea how anyone could give this place a bad review unless you don't appreciate excellent quality cider and beer in a truly authentic atmosphere!
