Food was just mediocre. Very plain and portions were very small. It is overpriced for what you get.

Service, stmosphere, flavors were good! Could have e been a bit more meat on the sandwich. Got the California club.
This is a great place! Love their mission. It was our first time here. We had a flight of soup and split a ham and cheese sandwich and an adult grilled cheese. Everything was great! Staff was friendly and attentive. Great job!

My husband and I visited for lunch Friday, May 15, 2026 after going to the farmers market at the Commons, which we enjoyed very much, and were happy to see the market going, and to see more vendors than we had expected. We purchased quite a few things at the farmers market, and we’re very happy with the offering of items there. We had previously decided after we went to farmers market, to stop at the After 26 restaurant. My husband was born, and raised in this area, but had never been to the restaurant. I enjoy dragging him places he’s never gone to before. My first impression when we went inside the restaurant, was how beautiful the vintage touches were in the building, and how peaceful the atmosphere was. I enjoyed being able to look out over Cadillac lake while getting ready to order, waiting for the food, and then eating our food. They have bistro style high stools, which are great for people that have difficulty standing up from a low chair, and with my husband being as tall as he is, that was a real plus for us. I loved all of the memorabilia that was positioned throughout the restaurant, to be able to look at them, even in the bathroom. There were beautiful prints, some for sale, to be able to look at When we got our food, I got the portobello burger, which was very good since I am mostly vegetarian. I was very happy to be able to find many choices for me to eat there. I do eat meat on occasion, and so I tried my husband‘s order which was the Adult Grilled Cheese sandwich. After trying it. I decided next time we go, that is going be my choice because it was definitely a 10 out of 10. The portobello burger was an eight out of 10 for me, which means it was still very good, but the adult grilled cheese reigns king for me. What they put on it, some unusual ingredients, makes an amazing, out of this world, combination! We were also very surprised thinking we would be getting just basically comfort food, to finding out that they really do offer a gourmet cuisine level of flavors, and food there. The prices are very reasonable for what they are giving you. The service is very warm, and friendly, and the appointments such as the furniture are beautiful. Everything looked clean and inviting. I would highly recommend a visit, if for no other reason, than to support such a wonderful mission: to assist those that have aged out of the special education program at the age of 26, which is why they are named so. For someone that is from outside the area, it is a wonderful place to learn a little bit about what was once a train Depot, and also be able to visit the beautiful water fountain and Real train located on the premises nearby. Please don’t forget a visit to the farmers market, which is now under new management; they are doing a great job! The one now managing it, personally greeted us, and spoke with us for a little while with very kind, and warm conversation. Vendors were very gracious, and willing to help in anyway. A nice little area to spend time shopping, eating, and looking at local points of interest.

What a nice lunch we had with a wonderful Lake view. The tomato bisque soup and “Adult Grilled Cheese with Bacon” sandwich was scrumptious.

What a wonderful project! This Cafe makes Cadillac head and shoulders above other communities, it shows how loving and caring our people are. God Bless the Cadillac Makers Market, they support the Cafe with their sales and booth fees. It does your heart good to visit the Cafe and Market without drama and politics, just good people doing good things.....
