They closed for the season on August 5th 2022. This was listed nowhere except their Fbook page so we had to find another restaurant asap while traveling.

They are closed. Flew in here only to eat at Herman's. So bummed. This place was sort of iconic.

An excellent relief from tourist mania. Quiet greenhouse dining room offering wholesome chicken and vegetables. The best was a basket of brown bread and plenty of butter.

We were looking for a spot to have a nice lunch on the way up to Interlochen Arts Camp and we stumbled upon this place and were happy we did. We wanted to get the kids one last good meal before a month and a half of camp for and this exceeded our expectations. My daughter and I split the chicken and waffles and a burger and both were great!

The drinks were good. Food was decent. The fries were very salty and it took a long time to get the food. Staff were very nice.

I am writing this review 8 years after our meal here — because I haven’t stopped thinking about it ever since! My husband and I were on a road trip and hungry for lunch, so we took the nearest exit and landed ourselves at this cafe in this tiny Michigan town. It’s absolutely CHARMING inside and the staff was so kind.Morel mushrooms were in season, so we had their freshly made morel mushroom soup… Oh, how I wish I could have a bowl of it again. It was th best soup of my life!

I know sometimes people feel like an 'average' rating is not good, but that is not the case here. Everything was good and I would certainly recommend this place if you are in Cadillac. The Mushroom soup was amazing, and I would be giving 5 stars if the rating was for the soup alone. The rest of the meal was solidly good food and prepared well. Definitely enjoyed our meal and would go again. The staff was nice and very accommodating and the drinks and drink were good as well.

1st time back in several months & everything was fantastic!! Sean (previously from Dockside) is heading up the kitchen with a new menu worth checking out.

So excited to write this review. We have traveled to many places, but have never had a REUBEN sandwich like this. IT was so flavourful that my husband and I couldn’t stop talking about it. The attached fries were hot and plentiful. The sandwich was generously layered with quality corned beef. The presentation of the food was generous and plentiful. Let me sum it up this way. We are here again today. Trying Two hearted 16 ounce , yes happy hour price $1.50 per glass……about 9 others on tap to try.

Visited twice within 2-weeks for lunch, and both food & service were fantastic! They now have a Chicago style Italian Beef and Sausage sandwich (combo) on the menu that rivals any of my favorites from when I lived in the Chicago area. Definitely worth a visit!!

Visited for the first time in a while, and the food and service was fantastic! Had the Italian Beef and Sausage ("combo") Sandwich and it was as good or better than any I've had back in the Chicagoland area!! Need to check it out!

Visited last summer for lunch. The restaurant looked like it was closed. We had to go around to the side and back to ask where the entrance was, as it seemed to be locked. Very sterile, meeting-room atmosphere. Very few patrons, which was a big tip-off. The food was expensive and non-descript. The morel soup was thick and not particularly noteworthy; expensive for a cup. After reading rave reviews about Hermann’s, this was a major let-down. We are heading back to the U.P.soon and staying in Cadillac for a night. Will definitely find somewhere else to eat.

We stop here because it was recommended by friend. It was total disappointment ! Also it is very very expensive for a small city in Michigan. It has NYC prices!!! First we had one cup of morell soup priced $10 US One dish we took was Wiener schnitzel ( simple German /Austrian dish ) and was $29US . It is breaded pork schnitzel with green onion and slices of lemon with your choice of 2 sides. Our second dish was garden salad with grilled halumi cheese for $14 US with additional $6 US for a piece of salmon that was not even cooked right .halumi cheese was cold and chewy like a rubber. Total disappointment would never return .
