Friends and I stayed and skied the first weekend of February. Snow was great. Lots of people sitting on the hill in the middle of the run. Which isn’t a big deal. Just wasn’t like that a few years back. We stayed in room 35 I believe. Woke up in the middle of the night to no heat. At 1 in the morning. I wasn’t going to get dressed and have to wait until someone came to fix it we just dealt with it. I told the desk manager on the way out Sunday and told her to have someone call me about it. Week passed and no one called. I called, someone told me they knew nothing about it and someone would call me back. Another week went by and I had to call them again. Talked with the manager that was working that day and said she must have missed placed the note to call me back. Said everything was working fine when they checked. Not sure why I would lie about the heat not working. Customer service is less than impressive. Won’t be going back.

We were pleasantly surprised with the MacKenzie lodge. It is an older property but has been nicely upgraded/updated. No elevator but helpful staff and nice up to date room. Have skied Caberfae for decades bit had never stayed overnight and glad we did. We even got Pete the manager to schlep our bags up to our 2nd floor room! Loved the hot tub (but 104 would be better than 102) and had fine meals in the Beaties restaurant right in the hotel for breakfasts and dinners. We will be back even though we are less than 2 hours away!

Best Bloody Mary around. Awesome place!

Love this place. Best value for skiing in Michigan. Plenty of inside space to warm up, eat, grab a beer, etc. I love the job they do making sure that people don't "camp out" at tables. They always have good food!

Wedding arrangements seemed well organized and efficient. Nice landscaping for outdoor wedding. Dance floor extremely small . Employees friendly and available with good customer service. Hotel room in lodge for overnight guests. Room is big. Very clean. No coffee maker. Mattress was too big for box spring. Very uncomfortable for 2 in a queen bed. There are 3 stories no elevator. Quite a long climb with luggage. I felt bad for the elderly customers. Very pricey for the quality and comfort I would rather sleep in a camper.

No elevator and no ground floor rooms at this “resort”. Needed to share the balcony. No coffee makers in the rooms. Restaurant and food not available. Pop tarts were the complimentary breakfast. Redeeming factor was the hot tub!!

Yearly upgrades on slopes, facilities and more. A great hidden gem. Always fun. Excellent staff. Super great ski instructors for all ages. Magic carpet on bunny hill cuts the learning curve in half for beginners. Excellent food. Large portions, cheap prices. Excellent all around resort. One of our favorites.

I timed the recent snow storm to allow me to ski Caberfae for the first time. Being from Ohio(with some small hills) I wanted longer runs with more vertical and less ice. The lake effect snows dropped about 18” of powder. Caberfae is a medium sized resort with 485’ of vertical drop and some decent runs. The lift operators were all very friendly, talkative, interactive and kept the lines moving! The lodge is ok, nothing special, and the bar has some tasty food at fair prices. Parking lot just next to the slopes so you don’t have to walk far. There is a lodge about 400’ from the lodge (it was full and didn’t stay there) but drove about 30 minutes from Cadillac on well maintained road.

Had a wonderful day skiing 11/17/2019, 12 days before Thanksgiving thanks to the Midwest Arctic Blast and more importantly Caberfae's Management decision to make snow and open a record early, Saturday November 16, 2019. Caberfae is a well run very family friendly small ski area 20 miles or so from Cadillac MI. 3 of their 4 lifts were operating with mostly great snow coverage. Family friendly by their encouragement of bring your own food. See below photos showing ample electrical outlets for crock pots or whatever you what to plug in. Free microwave too. Buy the way. The $99.00 Week End Season Pass keeps even large families able to afford to ski. Can't beat that with a stick. See pictures below Also see photos of menus for those who opt to buy their lunch. NOT gouging prices like most ski areas.

Good place to enjoy if you wish to ski. Resort is nice, restaurant is good too. Nice place to relax for a night if you are not into skiing. About an hour drive from Ottawa. Resort has a family room with all amenities. CarryIng a space heater is a good idea if you are visiting in January or February.

Turned me away despite a confirmed and fully paid reservation. Stuck outside in the cold at 10pm faced with hazardous road conditions to reach alternative accommodation. Rude staff with not so much as an apology for their stuff up. Didn't seem to think they had done anything wrong and were totally unhelpful, they were defensive to the point of accusing me of being in the wrong!

I have not been to Caberfae in about a decade so this was my first time in a little while. I was with a group of more than 50. They were pretty efficient and helpful. We got a cheaper rate by going after lunch. I had my own items so I did not have to rent "gear." I was on the slopes in about 10 minutes. I enjoyed the slopes.
