Decent food but not a fan of the queso. It tasted canned. The atmosphere is nice and feels clean inside. It was not busy when we went but we waited a long time for our food to arrive.
Lovely restaurant that serves southwest and texmex food. The inside is absolutely gorgeous and filled with Native American artwork and pottery. Shame it is for sale by owner, because unique places like this are what makes road trips truly special.
Carmelita’s in Calumet is easily a hidden gem I’m glad I stopped at, and honestly, it gave me one of the best burgers I’ve had—definitely top 10 material. The burger was perfectly juicy with a good char on the outside, and the toppings were fresh, adding to the overall quality that you don’t always get with burgers on the road. We chose to eat outside, which made the experience even better since it was a beautiful day, and the outdoor area was clean and comfortable....
