I visited this beautiful historic bar in September 2024. Great atmosphere and so much history within those walls!

Super neat piece of history!
Not a bar you need to be a regular at to get service, the bartenders were friendly and outgoing. I’m not sure if they had food other than chips and candy but the beer was ice cold and that’s all that mattered to me.

Friendly. Some good history. Smoked fish with (potato) chips was cold and meh. Bathroom is kind of dingy and no door on the stall. Found a dark beer I really liked.

A historic bar with a visit on your way up the UP. The bar has a beautiful Tiffany-style backbar, and the bar and mural on the wall are a century old.

One of the best bars around and a beautiful piece of Calumet/Copper Country history. The owner and bartenders are always hospitable and they make excellent drinks (including a good selection of NA beer).

The building itself is amazing. The care taken to preserve the original architecture and feel, while ensuring everything is up-to-date (and code) makes it a very unique stop.

Beyond that, it has a great location by the Calumet Theatre, the historic fire hall, and many other stops for visitors.

A must each trip up! Just sit back and soak in the history. Bring some pizza to share with your bartender & friends. Hope this place never changes!

Shute’s is a really neat place to visit. I loved seeing all of their decorative glass and old woodwork. The historical photos hanging up are really interesting. I would love to visit again while in the area.

We had great service for a quick drink while in town. Affordable (by our standards!) and I loved the cider they had on tap. Great atmosphere as well.
