Ichiban Hibachi Steakhouse & Sushi Bar

Hands down this was honestly the WORST dining experience I’ve ever had. My girlfriend and went out to dinner here with her sisters and all of our kids for my girlfriend’s birthday. This was my first hibachi experi move and we were excited to see the kids reaction, however when we arrived our host was extremely rude right off rip just to seat us, we brushed it off because everyone has bad days and work is stressful sometimes. We then all ordered food and waited for the cool show. The kids liked watching the food get cooked but when everyone got their plates, they forgot mine. I just shared a plate with one of the kids it was no big deal. When it came time to pay, I explained the situation, agreed that we can all watch the cameras to double check, they even checked my to go boxes just to triple check. The shorter woman (I’m assuming the owner) then came out, stuck her hands in my to go food and waved a piece of chicken in my face telling me it was lobster. We went back and forth and I explained she just stuck her fingers in my food I would no longer like that food. They refused to let me pay for the kids meals and NOT the third plate I never received, even after watching the camera and seeing for themselves I never received my plate. The woman then proceeded to lunge at me and SCREAM in my face before another server forced her to step away into the back to cool off. I don’t want to leave a negative comment or hurt anyone’s means of money, but this was absolutely the worst and most unprofessional dining experience I’ve ever had.

I think I’ll start dinning at another location after two poor experiences with the same chef. This last time it was my birthday and we went during lunch hours. The chef was rude to me this time and he was rude to me last time when I had him. For whatever reason, if I ask for teriyaki sauce instead of the other sauces they provide on the side he gets the worst attitude with me. It’s so weird? I don’t get it, it’s just sauce. I’m the customer, I’m not being disrespectful so why are you treating me so poorly just because I request a different sauce. I even say it before he gives me the standard sauces so they don’t go to waste. I don’t know his name but management should make sure all the chefs honor the customer’s request if they’re reasonable. He also had a poor attitude while cooking just like he did last time. No extra fun spirit like the chef I watched across from him. I was sad we weren’t served by a different chef. He needs a new job… either way we’ll go to the Ann Arbor location moving forward even though this one is closer.

Update: just went to Sapporo Hibachi Steakhouse and Sushi in Livonia and I had the best experience ever. The chef was AMAZING, I asked for teriyaki sauce and he happily delivered. He was so fun and friendly, you can tell he enjoys his job. There’s been a new standard set. I’ll never be back to Ichiban, I’ll go to Sapporo instead and be treated with respect.

This place is awesome! The food is really good and the plate is large, the price is right on. The show of them cooking in front of you is fun and pleasant. Calm, respectful, safe environment with a dim light setting.

So there np with the food. It's the charging 18% gratuity on a party of 2 and the automatic round up on the bill. Then talk about it in there language when you ask questions about it. It's on the menu party of 6 or more. But instead you keep up the shenanigans, just be truthful and honest that might work out in your best interests! Then we read the menu and you say it's not updated!!

So... I order carry out and was given a pick up time. I received my order within those minutes. Once I un-packed my bag of food, that I've ordered... Listen, the way Ichiban Hibachi Steakhouse & Sushi in Canton, Michigan... pack my food was Perfect... the portions of Food is Great & the Taste of the food.... Well, I'm dancing & writing this review & sharing my Happy experience with Whomever reads this. So, Thank you Ichiban Hibachi for a Great Xperience. ~ Goddess Msbjammin'

This place is disgusting. Doesn’t look like they have cleaned it in years. Food is decent but not worth how dirty it was. Plates had food on them still, cups foggy. Just go to a different hibachi.

It's a fake version of Ichiban !
The same song was playing on a loop.
Go to the one in Romulus or the one on Washtenaw. Noodles is spaghetti in some thin sauce. Waitress was acting like she didn't care at all and I couldn't figure out why until I got the bill. They add 20% to the bill. Won't be back. Wasted 75$ on mediocre food & service.

It was dirty as soon as we walked in.. the doors are broken. The staff and chef were super nice but our glasses stayed empty most of the time. It was a really weird atmosphere and just super quiet.

The food was bland compared to other hibachi grills. Won’t be back and will stick with Saganos.

I’m going to mention something I’m just seeing on other reviews. They automatically add a 20% tip. It was just me & my 12 year old son on a slow Sunday afternoon. Took 30 minutes to get our 4 sushi rolls. We were the only people at the sushi bar. The seaweed salad I ordered I had to ask for it after 15 minutes & when they brought it, it was literally frozen. I will never go here again
