Went there last week on vacation When presented the menu,I asked why prices were 33% higher than their website. Told can’t be fixed online and only someone in California is the only person that can fix the issue. I mentioned to the server this is very misleading and was told to go to Subway. We left immediately and had a great dinner at the Buckhorn Resort. I have never experienced anything like this. Read the reviews and do not go here.
I’m seeing a lot of negative reviews based on what I can only imagine as snooty, uppity people who can’t recognize a small, established business trying to survive with a loss in the family member and proprietor of the business as well as the struggles with trying to renegotiate their liquor license with the state (not local) who probably doesn’t care if they sink or swim (just want money and doesn’t care about small businesses). Not to mention what Covid likely did to their business too.
Anyways, the actual review:
The service was great. The woman who has been getting flack in other reviews was extremely friendly with us and attentive. We waiting only about 5 minutes for our appetizers after ordering them and only 30 minutes for our mains. She got our drinks refilled quickly and asked us how everything was more than once.
The food was great as well. We got rangoons which were hot and tasty as well as salads. The caesar dressing was a fun, different take on the traditional (so you may not like it if you’re expecting traditional) and I enjoyed it. We got a filet, white fish fried basket with fries, and a porterhouse. The porterhouse was ordered medium and came medium. The white fish was piping hot and very tasty (no fishy taste). The seasoning on the porterhouse was excellent; not “over-seasoned” as someone else suggested. Only gripe with it was the crust wasn’t as good as I might have wanted but the taste more than made up for it. The filet, on the other hand, tasted amazing and had a wonderful crust and cooked perfectly (medium rare).
The atmosphere was fun, inviting, and homey. The grill on the middle of the main room where they crooked the steaks was fun to see and watch. You can even cook your own steak for a few bucks off your meal.
I truly hope the state governing body in charge of their liquor license gets things going and understands that this is a small business in a small town who’s livelihoods are effected by them (the government) dragging their feet or being difficult. They had a liquor license for over 40 years. Make it right Michigan!
This is a truly nice spot to eat on your way up to pictured rocks. Don’t expect the fanciness of the Ritz but instead the homey, welcoming, small town feel you expect from a small town business. I can’t wait to come back.

No alcohol. 4% card fee. Online menu way out of date on website, NY Strip starts at $41 not $29. Had to wait a long time for food to arrive and to checkout.
The steaks themselves are actually pretty great (at that cost especially, they better be) and if you sit in the non lounge side you can see the steaks get made on an indoor charcoal grill. Optionally, you can grill your own steak and it's $2 less.
Waitress said that the owner died and the liquor license is being obtained by the sons.
Look it up, it's been years.

I do not recommend this place! I read other reviews which ended up being spot on about the horrible service by an older lady working there. There is an older man who seemed way better. We placed our order for two of us, a roast beef & cheese sandwich with fries and nachos... we waited 45 minutes for our food while a table of 5 people walked in after we just ordered... they got their steaks and big dinner entrees before us!! What?!?! Even the table next to us asked us if we ordered already because they noticed other tables getting food first. The lady waitress didn't care about our little table of two, she was much more attentive and friendly to the larger tables she was serving. She needs to work somewhere else, she's making this place lose business and ruining their reputation. The food was mediocre at best. The nachos seemed like they had been sitting aside for awhile or over microwaved and the sandwich was simply deli roast beef with melted cheese with mushrooms and onions, not a Philly cheesesteak as listed on the menu. Why on Earth did our food take longer to be served than the table of 5 to order steaks and get their food to their table?!?! Avoid this restaurant, Hardee's would be better or the Main Street pizza place.

If don’t waste your time here ! We drove hours to come up north and spent an awesome day on the boat rides offered in the town of Munising and after options for food where slim after we got back to shore ! So foggys was where we went or was only about 6 min away from town … the service was sad honestly ! Took 30 min or more to get food ! The locals were definitely treating locals better … I mean I know they must get sick of tourist but … our waitress Judy was less than happy that we were at the establishment at all ! I didn’t get a salad that I ordered ( but watched the people who came much after we did get two salad …. and the meat from the burger had huge un-chewable pieces in it so I only had one of the 3 sliders ! I felt like Judy (our waitress) couldn’t wait for us to just leave checking on us as little as possible and irritated when she did! I will never suggest someone stop here ! Had a belly ache before even getting to the hotel and didn’t go away the whole next day ! Oh and they do not serve alcohol ! If I could have chose negative starts I would have !

This place was so good, we ate here two nights in a row while staying in Munising, just one town over in Christmas, MI. This place was packed on a Wednesday and Thursday night. Old bar turned into a steakhouse, my Dad had the Coconut Shrimp and said it's the best he ever had and that the Pina colada sauce was delicious. I had the Whitefish sandwich which they broiled to perfection in a lemon pepper sauce. Hands down the best fish sandwich I'd ever eaten and I've eaten a lot of fish in Florida. So good I ate it 2 nights in a row. The steak where huge and looked delicious and everyone around us eating them where happy campers, there is a large open grill in the eating area that the owner cooks them on, it adds to the atmosphere. This place isn't fancy, it's clean, with a average decor and has a casual homey feel. I highly recommend. There is a lot of seating and they get busy, so there may be a short wait and the food is well worth the wait.

First impression wasn't the best. At first we were told to find our own table in the high top bar section. We went to find a table they were either taken or had not been bussed. We went back to the host station where we were passed off to another wait staff. This is where they made up for the disappointing first impression. Our server was amazing. He put in the extra effort despite having an obviously overloaded section. The food! Was amazing not only was it flavorful by there was thought put into the plating. Someone in the kitchen cares about not just the quality of food and ingredients but the presentation of their craft. We will come back.

We came up here for a long weekend and we’ve ended up here for dinner 3 nights in a row. The filet steaks and Parmesan crusted whitefish are to die for! You will not be disappointed 🙏🏼

Quite possibly the worst steak I've ever had. My wife and I ordered the exact same thing; Bourbon Steak and Shrimp dinners, both ordered Medium doneness. Both were under cooked, but mine was practically rare. I had to send it back and it still wasn't right. My baked potato was cold. I asked for more butter but never got it. I asked for a glass of water and never got that either. My wife's food was hot. Her steak was undercooked but she's ok with that. Her baked potato was hot. A tale of two dinners. We paid $94 for that. We will never be back. Truly awful dinner and truly awful service.

When my husband and myself went in late August it was horrible. It was a weeknight and there were not that many people there when we first got there. Everything was horrible from there forward. It took over 15 minutes just to be acknowledged for service. Our drinks stayed empty the entire hour and 15 minutes of waiting for our terrible cooked wrong steaks and cold gross sides. Extremely disappointing for the ridiculous price they charge!
