Sometimes I'll get the best sandwich in the world. Sometimes, I'm left scratching my head and wondering what the hell happened.

Bland bland bland, out of everything on the tray, the only things that have flavor were the sausage and pulled chicken. Was a flop from the moment it hit the table.

I can't believe they don't offer butter for the cornbread.

Great BBQ, the ribs actually have some meat on them unlike some other places. The sauce selection is very good too. Great cole slaw and baked beans too. Prices seem a little high, but you get quite a bit for it, especially in the sides.

Really good barbecue in metro Detroit. Probably the best overall in terms of pricing, portion sizes and quality. The pulled pork is absolutely

The cashier had a big smile and was very polite. The store was clean and well maintained. The only reason I give it a 4 is because the food was good, just not 5 star good. Also, small portions for the 2 meats. Everything else was nice.

Found myself in Clawson today at lunch time. Found Woodpile with Google.I ordered the weekday lunch special for $12.95 - one meat, one side and a pop - and got a second side becauseI couldnt decide. Still under $20 with tip.The lady at the counter was very pleasant and possessed an honest sense of humor and wore a smile the whole time. One bite of the brisket, before sauce and without the bun, and I knew I'd be back here. Perfection in three thick slices carefully laid on the bun. Moist, tender, almost falling apart. Then I tried the mac & cheese. Another hit. I wish I could make it half as good. Noodles are perfectly cooked, the sauce is almost decadent in its flavor and delightfully creamy. The coleslaw. Among the best I've ever had. It has actual flavor. Not just some cabbage & dressing, there is thought behind this side. Multiple vegetables with just a hint of cayenne (?) & maybe horseradish. Not hot, just seriously tasty.Even the corn bread, wrapped in foil, was moist, sweet, delicious. The tables built around barrels are cool, as are the "live edge" high tops. There is outdoor seating as well for the non-winter months. They have carry-out as well.Like I said before, I'll be back. Having recently moved from Tampa area, I have to try the Barbe-Cuban sandwich to see how it stacks up.Parking: The off-street parking is only about 8 spaces. Room for about 4 more on the street.Kid-friendliness: One look at the menu and the kids will be happy.Wheelchair accessibility: Lots of room inside, wide entry door is easy to open.

Poor customer service, ordered about 90 dollars in meat and was given about enough sauce for one sandwich. Asked for more and she was rude and said it would cost extra for bbq sauce…at a bbq restaurant. Very poor service

Absolutely delicious! My boyfriend and I split the 2 meat combo and it was more than enough. We chose the pulled pork and the pulled chicken. Both were well seasoned and very juicy. Such good flavor! Our favorite side was probably the mashed sweet potatoes (but the mac and cheese was right there with it). Definitely will be back!!

This is my new favorite BBQ place! We ordered one of the family meals with 2 lbs of meat and sides. It was delicious. It's not often I crave leftovers but I couldn't wait to eat more of it that was leftover the next day for lunch. The meats were so tender and not fatty at all. And their sauces were all tasty too. Even the cornbread was delicious. We'll be back soon!

You can’t get better Texas style BBQ in metro Detroit. Brisket, ribs, burnt ends, and candied bacon are outstanding!

The 6 of us said everything was great! We had Brisket, Burnt ends, pulled Chicken sandwich, Mac & Cheese and Coleslaw plus cornbread. We did a carry out and everything was individually packaged and easy to determine what went to whom. If I could offer up a little advice however, it would be that these meats are a little too spicy for someone who can't handle spicy! Had to tone it down with rolls or put it on a bun! But it was still a great meal!

Great BBQ- decent beer selection and nice that they have picnic tables outside so we can bring the dogs and eat outside in the summer.
