We decided to try this place to get food before we head out on the road. We were so disappointed. The food was just down right nasty. Everything was greasy & bland. I never had cornbread so dry in my life. So bad. My 10 yr old makes better mac out the box. We thought we got good food to ride with but this was a total waste of our road money. My sister tossed her whole meal out the window. We ended stopping for food again which took time off our actual ETA back home to Chicago. I don't recommend this to anyone. Not even the locals. Damn shame.

My mom wanted soul food & this place was in her area so we decided to give them a try. The atmosphere was dead for a Sunday. I asked if they used pork in any dish the server told me no (a total lie). Now the server was decent friendly & attentive. We placed our order. When the food came to the table it looked so good. But as I dug into my greens there was pork in it. I didn't make a fuss i just didn't eat it. My fish was undercooked & extremely greasy. The yams were bland and the cornbread was so dry. I couldn't eat anything on my plate. My mother wasn't pleased at all. She said her chicken was old & refried. The mac and cheese was salty, old and dried out. The green beans had so much butter floating on the top of it & she also found pork in her green beans. Her blk eye peas were hard & under cooked. She couldn't even eat the rice it was full of salt. I just asked for the check. I asked the server if I could put her tip on my card she told me it wouldn't matter she can't keep her tips anyway. I strongly suggested she finds somewhere else to work. I will definitely not patron any business that treats their servers that way. No wonder this place was dead when we walked in. I will not recommend this place to anyone at all. I put one star they didn't deserve only because you can't post with no stars.

It was our first time here. It was very warm, welcoming Outstanding customer service. highly recommend 100 out of 10 I had the tilapia dinner and my husband had the smothered pork chops dinner and my niece had the chicken tenders. Everything was cooked fresh nice and Hot and nicely plated
