I give it 0 stars I ordered 75 wings They told me 20 mins over the phone I get there wait 20 mins my 20 mins Turned into 1 hr an 20 minutes which was unacceptable , unprofessional, and not business like also somebody cut into front of made which me wait even longer I asked for my money back he said no the best he can do is add 5 wings no apologies, no accountability, just unprofessional horrible experience and I have a good patience.

The chicken looked over cooked and old. Still had feathers on the chicken and bruised marks. If I had the time I would take it back. It's the only fried chicken place in a 10 mile radius. You should shut down or get your stuff together.

Definitely surprising taste and I will be looking at other items on the menu. Perch and Fries is what I got and should have gotten more. The breading and flavor, GREAT and the Fries were good too!

Food tastes low quality, fish was soggy and unseasoned. Bread was stale and disgusting

We went there on Saturday, it's wasn't busy. Most people order out the family meals. The food was delicious; the breading isn't extra crispy, but the seasoning is terrific. I ordered the Jumbo Tenders; most chicken places have tenders where the meat is tiny with a bunch breading. Not this place, the tenders were huge!! The food is made fresh, not sitting under a hot lamp. There is wait for your food though.

The best to do it!!

When it's fresh it's great. Then there's the times it's not, or just straight burned. The staff is nice.

A Warm Welcome and an Unforgettable First Experience!

I had the pleasure of visiting Captain J’s Chicken and Fish on M59 in Macomb, and let me just say — this place is doing something right, especially with incredible team members like Shelby and Monique at the helm.

From the moment I walked in, both of them greeted me with genuine warmth and enthusiasm. They didn’t just take my order — they engaged, shared their knowledge of the menu, and created such a welcoming atmosphere that I felt completely at home.

What really stood out was their ability to connect with me as a customer. I mentioned that I’d never tried catfish before, and instead of brushing it off, they both took the time to explain the flavor, texture, and even shared what makes it a popular choice. Their passion for the food and pride in their workplace shone through in every word. And you know what? I tried the catfish — and loved it.

It’s rare these days to find people who make you feel like more than just another customer. Shelby and Monique are two strong pillars representing Captain J’s with class, kindness, and confidence. Their positive energy and willingness to guide a customer into new territory with ease and comfort truly made my visit unforgettable.

If you’re thinking about trying something new, or just want to feel seen and welcomed, this Captain J’s location is the spot — and Shelby and Monique are the reason why.

The Captain Jay's on Hall Rd. is the truth...Every time I visit this place it's the same consistency with the cooking and chicken..The chicken tenders be cooked right and not dried out..Always fresh grease too...The Captain Jay's in Roseville In front of Macomb Mall is garbage. Don't even waste your time or money going there..take that extra drive up to Hall Rd. because you'll be glad you did. The service is always fast to. That Captain Jay in Roseville is always short cutting the food on taste and size (see pic below). The left side is Roseville and the right side is Hall Rd...so you tell me yourself.
Good job (Hall Rd) Captain Jay's , I'll stick with you guys from now on...thanks for the delicious chicken tenders that's always fresh and cooked right...

Absolutely not good food, bland, no flavor ( I don't want to know what they used to fry it in). Bought a small combo order of chicken wings and shrimp to try for first time. It didn't sit well with us at all. (My husband spent the night in the restroom). I ate very little so I got lucky. The service was terrible. The guy at the counter didn't even speak. I could tell he didn't want to be there. Service was -0. Atmosphere=-0. The guy at the counter could have cared less with his poor attitude and LACK OF SOCIAL SKILLS. He put the food on the counter turned around walk to the back and never said goodbye have a nice day nothing. Waited about 15 minutes for the food and I was the only customer in the store. Never going back.
Don't waste your money. 🤢🤮
