Deshi Kitchen Indian cuisine

Firstly, I had it in my mind to go here and try this place for myself for a while. I love experiencing and tasting for myself new foods and new cultures. I ordered the paneer tikka masala and i just have to say it was PHENOMENAL! I will be coming back here, and I may certainly be a new regular here. I made my own naan to dip in the paneer tikka masala and then poured the rest on the rice. Gosh I cannot believe I didn’t get to this place sooner.

We're so glad another Deshi opened, this one is slightly out of the way for us vs the one on 19 but we happened to be in the general area to come here.

We got the Lamb Rogan Josh and garlic basil naan as well as carrot halwa. All of it was perfectly seasoned and spiced. Our server also said he had made the lamb so compliments to the chef! Deshi has some the best Indian food I've probably ever had. We're long time customers and will always come back!

Received poor customer service on 7/25.

The man who took my order was very unenthusiastic and bad mannered. He tells me my order will be ready in a half hour then calls me exactly 35 minutes later to say it’s done. He continues to repeat himself about me not being there to pick it up yet, saying they closed every Friday from 2:30pm-4pm which was unknowingly a few minutes away from my pick up time.
This was never mentioned to me nor are these hours reflected online. I got to the location off 19 and Hayes within 3 minutes, and it was temporarily shut down. I had no idea there was another location nearby and when I called back the same person didn’t explain that, resulting in me not getting my food after waiting for 40 minutes. Based on my this situation and the review below mine I’m assuming that this restaurant likes to waste peoples time. Not worth the $17 meal or hassle in a busy area with plenty of other eatery options.

Because of this experience I have deleted my previous 5 star review and won’t be returning.

We carried out chicken makhani (sauce) Yum!!! We ordered just the sauce, and two naan. We brought it home, made the chicken and added the yogurt, tomatoes and cucumbers. Delicious for sure. When we have time, we'll sit down for a meal. Too bad there's no sign on Garfield to let folks know it's there. Business looks slow, but it shouldn't be... If it was better known here, it'd be busy like the Troy Indian restaurants for sure! Be well & eat, drink and be merry.

I would love to give 5 stars since their food is really good.
But they always get my order wrong or cheap out on raita and egg on biyarni.

They used to give raita and egg with biyarni but now they dont.

I ordered a dish to go (Rogan Josh). It has literally 3 small cubes of meat and the rest is just sauce. A bit disappointed

Placed an ordered for one rice dish and bullet naan at 6:02. Door Dash said 6:30 then I received at notice from door dash at 6:24 that my order was ready..went to the restaurant and had to wait 5 minutes before they even came out of the kitchen to acknowledge me.. I said I had a door dash order and they just oh it's will be a few minutes.. You didn't even ask what I ordered and I received a notification saying it was ready.. they didn't even respond..there was only one carryout order waiting to be picked up when I arrived ..they finally come out at 6:55 and hand me my food and not even a sorry ? 55 minutes for one rice dish ? Food was decent definitely wasn't worth the $25 and hour wait though.. you guys should turn off door dash if you can't handle the business or have them update your wait times.

I usually like this place but I had to change my rating from 5 to 3 stars. Recently I ordered food online and they received and accepted the order and I paid for it. However when I went to the store,they were clearly closed and the door was locked. I tried calling them all day but nobody picked up. I called them the next day and still nobody picked up. UPDATE: I received some credit back from Doordash. Not the full amount.

I picked up carry out . Chicken Tikki biryani. Chicken & yellow seasoned rice . I asked for it mild but it still had a nice low heat. The chicken was tender and delicious. The rice was tasty. And more important the food is hot.

I also got the nine with cherries and pineapple. Which was delicious. I take it home and add a little butter.

I ordered in person so I could read the menu and what was in each dish. There’s a few things I’m going come back to try another day.

I usually love this place. However, the last time I ordered from here, the owners were 20 minutes late to open, and I had to wait another 20 minutes until they made my food. Got home and was eating when I saw a short black hair in my butter chicken. I assume it was a beard hair. I wonder if they even wear hairnets at all. Might not be back.
