The worst experience ever food took an hour and came out cold service horrible . Never coming to this place again

The food was wonderful, however the service was awful. There was only one man running the whole front of the store in a Saturday, I came in with a large group and it was to much for him to handle with door dashers and other customers. The poor guy was running around like crazy and super frustrated out enter meal, even getting snappy with some of the to-go orders, a couple people just left without there food and one other table of 2 completely left after not being brought water or a menu. This place definitely needs more staff.
The food did take a long time to come out (again for a large party of people so I get it) and we got a large verity of food to share, but it was hard while waiting to get water or anything else. We ordered two masala teas with our food that never came out, when we got the bill I wanted them removed and was told they were almost done. Now I had a 5 month old with me who is whining (she was so sleepy) and told him we were about to leave. He insisted, so I just paid and asked for them in to go cups. We got home and let me talk you the things where THICK, my husband is Pakistani and I regularly make my own at home, it should not have been like that. I think it was steeping the whole time we were eating and just got forgotten about. I tried everything went I got home to fix the taste and texture, ended up just making my husband and I a new cup. One person in our group got the Mango Lassi, it tasted off? This could have been from the mango juice used, sometimes the bottles just aren’t that good, but she didn’t end up finishing it.

Over all it was an uncomfortable meal, the food was very good (hot, fresh, and well spiced), but we won’t be back.

Our table was the only one in there and it took over an hour to get our food. They were out of a few things. Lamb was chewy. They had only 1 person working tables and door dash pickups and he was running around like a mad man. They clearly need more employees. And some background music wouldn't be a bad thing either. It was eerily quiet in there.

It’s been a very long time since I had truly good Bengali food at a restaurant! Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. My sisters, friends, and I had an amazing experience. This is definitely going to be our go-to spot from now on! Everything was a 100/10. I just wish they did more marketing so more people would know how great this place is! 🥰❤️😋

Went in with a big group of 7 had service attended to us right away , received our food fast as well. The food itself was outstanding. Our waiter was also the chef and he did an amazing job tending to us fast whilst also cooking.

Been here a bunch but tonight I had the worst Rogan Josh ever. Asked for mild plus and got very hot with almost no flavor. They lost a customer for life

Ordered takeout online for dinner on a Monday. Everything went through but disappointingly, when I arrived at the location they were closed! Very unfortunate since we were excited to try, as the food all looks great and the reviews show the same.

Hopefully it was a one time issue, but they should not let your order go through, and have you pay, if they are unable to provide.

Will be trying again but will ensure to call first and confirm they are operating.

First time trying this place and OMG it was a hit! The food was packed with flavor. We ordered the tandoori, two biryanis, and a couple of curries. We asked for extra spicy, and Chef Shahed absolutely delivered. He was so kind and accommodating. We’ll definitely be back!

11/10 food, very flavorful. The cook was Shahidur, he was taught to cook by his uncle. Tastes like it was cooked by mom's hand. Thank you for being so accommodating and kind, looking forward to making this a regular spot!!

Excellent food! Good job on spice level. The sizzling Tandori Mix Grill and Chicken Takki are both amazing.

All the dishes we had were exceptional... really great flavor!!! We will definitely be back!!

Firstly, I had it in my mind to go here and try this place for myself for a while. I love experiencing and tasting for myself new foods and new cultures. I ordered the paneer tikka masala and i just have to say it was PHENOMENAL! I will be coming back here, and I may certainly be a new regular here. I made my own naan to dip in the paneer tikka masala and then poured the rest on the rice. Gosh I cannot believe I didn’t get to this place sooner.

We're so glad another Deshi opened, this one is slightly out of the way for us vs the one on 19 but we happened to be in the general area to come here.

We got the Lamb Rogan Josh and garlic basil naan as well as carrot halwa. All of it was perfectly seasoned and spiced. Our server also said he had made the lamb so compliments to the chef! Deshi has some the best Indian food I've probably ever had. We're long time customers and will always come back!

Received poor customer service on 7/25.

The man who took my order was very unenthusiastic and bad mannered. He tells me my order will be ready in a half hour then calls me exactly 35 minutes later to say it’s done. He continues to repeat himself about me not being there to pick it up yet, saying they closed every Friday from 2:30pm-4pm which was unknowingly a few minutes away from my pick up time.
This was never mentioned to me nor are these hours reflected online. I got to the location off 19 and Hayes within 3 minutes, and it was temporarily shut down. I had no idea there was another location nearby and when I called back the same person didn’t explain that, resulting in me not getting my food after waiting for 40 minutes. Based on my this situation and the review below mine I’m assuming that this restaurant likes to waste peoples time. Not worth the $17 meal or hassle in a busy area with plenty of other eatery options.

Because of this experience I have deleted my previous 5 star review and won’t be returning.
