Customer service is extremely important to me. And I am usually right when I say bad service equates to bad food. However, the owners, Daryl and Eric, have done an excellent job of ensuring that customers like me feel appreciated—and I can be a tough critic. I initially visited as a walk-in customer, and after witnessing their passion and dedication to their business, I pitched Motor City Grits to my employer to provide lunch for over 200 employees at our office. Although there were some challenges along the way, I appreciated their clear communication. No one expects perfection, but I admire their friendly and approachable attitude, which is not always common. To all competitors and other small businesses out there, always remember that people will never forget how you make them feel. It costs nothing to be NICE. Customers will overlook mistakes if you take responsibility and treat people with the respect they deserve. It seems like Eric and Daryl are on the right track, and I hope they can scale and maintain the same level of service at their new Southfield location. Wishing y'all the absolute best from your biggest critic and fan.

MCG entree options are great! The staff is always welcoming and the food is amazing. Their catering service offer fair packages and my guests are always satisfied. I’ve used MCG for several birthday parties (children & adult) and I’ve also had their food at a wedding. Top tier!

Took my son there for his Birthday. The food and staff were amazing I had catfish and grits. My son had salmon grits eggs and okra. 4 star quality food. I’m going back today for Wings and Mac cheese

My hubby had shrimp and wings ( They were delicious )?. "Everything" was delicious ? On top of that they were NOT stingy with the portions .We will definitely be back ☺️

The gentleman that took our order also cooked our order AND set the table and served us for Saturday brunch! The food was PHENOMENAL!! All made from scratch. The berry compote on my French toast was so good I didn’t even need syrup! The creole cream sauce on my grits was enough to bring me back!!!!

Finally! They was open when I went to the east side! I am one happy camper today! First things first I been trying to go here since like December but could not catch them open... so today! BABY! she was happy! What I had....Lemon pepper wings- amazing amazing amazing! They was so fresh when we got them. The hint of sour lemon was great! I'm thinking if I need to return later since they close at 8pm. Lol. 10.5/10Grits and jerk chicken- SPICY! and I loved it. Grits were a lil thick but mmmmmmmmmm.... 8/10Yams- thin and thick slices, sweet, and flavorful 10/10 from me!Mac-n- cheese - when I saw it....I questioned it... but after tasting it.... it was really good. Creamy and cheesy. Flavor was there 4 sure. 8/10It's black history month so u get a free small gumbo when u place a order. So go try it!Catfish- it was farm raised catfish. Nice and crispy. Seasons well. 9/10Greens- let me tell u! I'm not really a green eater unless they good. If I didn't order so much for I would have ate them all in one setting. Lol. These greens was so good! 10/10Corn bread - I could have done without, but she liked it.Gumbo- it was tasty! I liked it. A hint of burnt flavor but still delicious. 9/10Lemonade- super good! 10/10. I also order Macaroni and yams both dry and tasteless. And the grits taste like corn bread dressing with hella sage. The shrimp taste like the sea. I don’t really know if that’s how it’s suppose to taste since I’m trying grits for the first time in my life. Still stand on grits aren’t for me lol. The three star is for their delicious fruit punch with actual fruit and their bbq wings are beyond fire.

Motor city grits is SO DELICIOUS. My favorite is their classic shrimp and grits and the fried catfish. Everything is seasoned to perfection. The restaurant is clean, and the people are kind. I can’t wait to eat here again.
