Best pizza in Michigan. They lost my favorite bartender or she quit, oh well doesn’t stop us from coming. The noise can be a bit overwhelming and the service is very good, but the service staff have never asked me if I was a mug club member or if my name was in the system (if you reach 200 points you get $10 off) and for the amount of money that we have spent in there, we would’ve had $1000 off by now. I didn’t know this secret until recently. The beer is better than average 6.5/10. Their prices just went up this past week. We would always get the pepperoni pizza for $19, now if you order the pepperoni pizza, you can choose two other toppings for $21. I don’t want the other two toppings I just want pepperoni so that’s a bummer that it cost two more bucks for that. It’s a nice spot.

Food is fantastic! Our server Megan told us that the items marked with a K on the menu are what they are known for. We got the Mahi Tacos and they did not disappoint! We will be back here as returning customers.

Not terrible, but I wouldn't go back. Mediocre, overly glazed salmon, so-so burger, and 2 other sandwiches. Service was basically ok.

Updated: while we may have had a bad experience a few weeks ago with service, this past time exceeded expectations. It is refreshing to have an owner that truly cares about the customer experience and goes above and beyond to make things right. We will definitely be back with our family. Tuesday taco night wonderful. Plus average brewing has gotten better. New brew to try is the double birch bark chocolate porter. Our go to on Tuesday night.

I have been a long-time customer of Kickstand’s. It saddens me to say, over the last several months, I’ve felt there has been a major decline in quality of service—particularly at the bar. I’ve tried to overlook the lack of friendliness/professionalism because I do enjoy the food and want to support local business. Having said that, my recent visit may be my last.

Seated at the bar, I ordered a beer and a water. The beer came out just fine but there was no water. Not a big deal, I asked for water. After asking twice, I still did not receive water. I also ordered the soup special—a puréed bean soup because it sounded good. One of the bartenders, pouring a beer for a customer, audibly complained about the food to another bartender saying “it looks like baby food.”

Later during my meal, I heard another bartender complaining and dropping obscenities about some new, apparently time consuming practice management had been discussing with the bar staff. To add to the air of negativity, servers congregated around the bar, joining in on the complaining and gossiping.

Look, I completely understand there are frustrations and bad days at any work place, but please keep your comments and gossiping out of ear shot of customers. The whole experience made me feel unwelcome. Sadly, I’ve felt a general feeling of unwelcomeness several times before from the staff, but this was over the top.

Don’t waste your time. The hostess sat a party of 3 in an unmanned section of the restaurant. We watched new patrons getting service and water but no one acknowledged us. After 15 minutes, watching servers walk past us we had no choice but to leave. Don’t be open if don’t have servers or at least acknowledge patrons who have sitting for a long time.

Kickstand has come a long way. Great atmosphere, excellent service and the food is outstanding. I am a creature of habit so the smash burger, bang bang shrimp and the chicken tenders rock. I will put the Drae’s chicken tenders up there with Raising Canes in East Lansing. The beer and drink selections are immense. Great place!!!
