I think that this was my first time at the Lakes. I wanted a steak and decided upon the New York Strip. The Strip is not my favorite cut but it was awesome. Cooked to perfection, nicely seasoned, with fingerling potatoes and asparagus. The side wedge salad was good -- not sure why it was deconstructed and the bacon was not diced -- but it was a fine salad. Service was excellent and efficient. I will frequent this place. Highly recommended.

We were more or less asked to leave to go to Uptown Grill at 11 pm on a Friday night after having dinner and drinks ! Our glasses were half full !How rude!

Lakes fills a void in a town starving for dining experiences and options, it's like a local pub with a better than average menu with assorted specials. Willing to serve with a substantial bar of regulars. Clean, good service, no ambiance or entertainment It's a good dinner spot with a liquor license.

Had a great meal at the Lakes tonight. Wife had a giant Michigan Salad and the Chicken Wrap Sandwich and I stuck with Fish & Chips. Service from Vicky was outstanding. Excellent wine selection. Get there early or there will be a line out the door. Plenty of parking but traffic on Union Lake Road can be daunting.

I don’t get all the love. Nice atmosphere by way too small. Food can be hit or miss but if they do miss they try and correct issues.Prices a bit on the upper end for what you order but if you go at the right time it’s very nice. If you don’t it’s wall to wall at the bar to the door with people waiting.

Valentine dinner with the wife. Appetizers were great, tbone was great. Everything cooked well, and dessert was superb. Server Adele was awesome. Made us feel very welcome.

Saw an ad for this restaurant and decided to take hubby for a post-Valentine's Day dinner.I was a little skeptical, at first, because it sits in a strip mall right in between 2 other businesses.But it did not disappoint! From the popping atmosphere to the very wonderful server, Adelle, everything was just great! Everything she suggested was spot on!We started with crabcakes and southwest chicken spring rolls. ?Hubby's NY strip steak was tender and mostly cooked to his satisfaction, said veggies were perfectly seasoned, MI Cherry side salad was just right, and paired with his microbrew & wine, he was good for the evening.This was the 1st time I've ever eaten the entire bowl of French Onion soup (it was soooooo good!), along with a full MI Cherry salad.Finished off with a chocolate/peanut butter something and creme brulee with fruit. They were just so good and perfectly portioned.The atmosphere was jumping, but very homey. You could tell several people were regulars. It was not a cheap date ($134 without tip, for 2). It was our 1st visit, but pretty sure it won't be our last.Parking: A rather small parking lot with no available spots when we arrived on a Thurs night at 7. Can't imagine what a weekend looks like!

An unassuming restaurant in the middle of a strip mall with great service and delicious food. We just happened to be in the neighborhood looking for a place to eat and decided to try this. Everybody was very pleased with their food. It's clearly a popular place with the locals. I would definitely go back again.

Although the wait staff was friendly, the food was incredibly greasy and way overpriced. Their ceilings are such that it is so loud in there, we had to move around the table to hear each other speak. My husband's fish was terrible. I reiterated to the waitress more than once that I wanted my burger well done with no pink. Couldn't eat the middle of the burger as it was solid pink. Won't be back.

A waiter named Fish made sure to provide top notch service! The filet is always perfect! One of my favorite places to treat myself to a steak dinner. Dishes come out quickly and perfectly prepared. Highly recommended!!
