I'm kind of torn , we eat here a lot and the food is always great , staff is generally nice but we got take out about a week ago... as my wife was walking in she seen the older gentleman that works the phones and register in his car smoking right outside the take out door , and hacking up a lung into his hands... shortly after she walked in he walked in right behind her. He proceeds to answer the phone , take an order , and then goes right over to a big container of food that he was portioning and began portioning it , without washing his hands … right after he hacked a lung up and smoked a few cigs. If this is the level of cleanliness displayed right out in the open right in front of customers then I can only imagine what is going on in the kitchen where the food is being made …. very sad

Love the food at Vitale's. Met a customer there the other day. We both had sub sandwiches, which were excellent. In the past, I have had their pizza and enjoyed that as well. The service was good, and the food arrived quickly. It's definitely a great place to eat, and a go-to for me when I am in the area!

We went here for lunch/dinner, I had the Chicken Picatta, and it was the best dish I have had in a long time. It was fresh, hot, and savory. I will definitely order this again. She had a Pepperoni 12" pizza, and it was pretty darn good, too. We split an appetizer of cheese nachos, so much cheese you could not see the chips ?.The service was great. She was on top of everything, never needed to ask for anything.Atmosphere needs updating, very dark and dive barish.Overall, I would go back and eat again.

How hard is it to get a takeout order right. Ordered a large pizza and two cheese bread sticks with sauce. got the pizza ok but they had to go back and get the sauce for the bread sticks. Now the pizza is cold the bread sticks are cold, and the sauce is still after 15 mins MIA. What a bunch of bullshit. Now that I can eat my food I thought it fair to edit mt post, it didn't get better. Well put things in the microwave to heat up Sauce was refrigerator cold. The breadsticks are an unimpressive pizza dough with no flavor the pizza toppings were good but definitely out shadowed by the poor dough and unsavory sauce. The dipping sauce is the same pizza sauce used on the pizza no great plus there. What happened to the sweet flavorful sauce that Vitalies was known for. It made up for the dull dough. now it is less desirable than most other joints around town.

Very disappointed....took an hour and 15 mins for a pizza and wings to be delivered maybe 5 minutes away and they were both cold and crusty .....if i wanted that i would have gotten a hot and ready pizza for much less and it is on a Thursday....not even a busy weekend.... I have ordered many times in the past and it was hot and maybe 30 mins. I am a very good tipper but not tonight.....makes me sad....hopefully it will be better for someone else....if there is a next time.
