I got hot maple chicken mac n cheese and it was so great. Staff was friendly. The restaurant was very small and the menu was hard to read, but I will be coming back.

We ordered the parmesan garlic and maple buffalo wings, and an order of cheese curds. The cheese curds were delicious and super flavorful, however, the wings were subpar. The staff was super friendly and their menu seemed to have a nice mix of options.
We initially went there to get their fish and chips, but they ran out before 4 PM.

Restaurantji Recommends
Both Mariner North and Lake Effect have quality food. I'd give this the edge on the cocktail menu and drinks in general. Justin the bartender was on point, unrattled and fluidly efficient behind the bar. Gave him a big fat tip for his efforts. And for you Mac n cheese lovers, you can't pass up on the homemade recipe!
Onion rings were burnt to the point where there was no onions in the rings. Brought to waiters attention but remained on bill.

Soooo good. Honestly the best chicken sandwich I've ever had, ordered it lake effect style. You can really taste cherry in the Michigan Mule and not an artificial-seeming flavor.

The food was good and served up quickly. The only real downside is they won't let you sit where you want. They have a stick seating system and heaven forbid you mess with it.
